I’d booked a deluxe room overlooking the sea view was great but room was very below standard the bed was like sleeping on a rock and the pillows were awful the bathroom was not the standard of a deluxe the shower was so hard to turn on/off tv too close to wardrobe and no plugs near the bed! Altogether very disappointing far too much money for what we had!

The room was very tired but i know it is one of the rooms still to be renovated. However the main problem was that the mattress sloped downwards and i moved in my sleep and fell out of bed at 4 am! I hurt myself on the bedside cabinet as i fell and grazed my arm and badly bruised my shoulder. The mattress is unfit for use and needs replacing.

I liked the friendliness of the staff, the room was a nice size, but the bed was a bit old. I would have liked a few more food options on the menu The shower over the bath was unusable for me as the side was to tall and there was no handrail Even though there was a lift we still had to cope with to many stairs for myself and my husband The hot water was far to hot, care homes, schools and other public places sould be around 44%C

Check in experience not great; agreeing one hour extra to check out seemed to stress out receptionist (who was also serving at the bar). Lift out of service during big wedding reception; food pretty bad. Altogether needs some focused attention/

Night out with the Boys

Arrived at 2:30 pm and couldn’t check in due to no rooms available (a bit disappointed as I needed to get changed before meeting the boys at 3:00 pm. Managed to get a car parking spot which was good, as limited parking. Hotel clean same as my room which was quite basic but had a good shower.

Dated, but I will be back…..

So, not the most modern hotel in the world and quite frankly, it is overdue a refurb but that should not put you off staying. The Team are extremely welcoming, the rooms are clean and daily housekeeping cannot be faulted. Breakfast choice is good and I enjoyed what was put in front of me. I have stayed elsewhere in Lowestoft and paid more for the privilege however I will return to the Hatfield because of the friendly Team and the seafront location.

Disappointment

Room shabby and cramped and airless, creaking floorboards including corridor so bed shook whenever someone passed by. Disappointing. But breakfast excellent and I commend the lady who managed the breakfast restaurant, very friendly and efficient.

Great relaxing break

Throughly enjoyed our stay at the Hatfield, very friendly staff, the hotel is right on the sea front.. good for walking in either direction .
