I recently stayed at this hotel and there were definitely some strong positives. The location was fantastic, making it super convenient to get around. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, and there was a really nice café on the bottom floor that added a great touch to the overall experience. The only downside was the room size. The rooms were very, very small, to the point where there wasn’t really anywhere to put luggage comfortably. So while it's a great spot with wonderful staff, just be aware that the space is a bit tight.

Located in the very center of the old town pretty much every part of the city is in walking distance. The hotel is nice and the rooms are ok. Not too fancy, the furniture has had a few spots and scratches but in general the room was clean. Over all I would say it’s just too expensive. Something one could say about the whole city

Uncomfortable stay

Website was down and we got locked out of our room. The rooms are noisy, you can hear everyone leaving and entering the hotel. The pillows and air conditioning leave a lot to be desired.

I am always skeptical about "self-service" hotel, and this stay at Lubo confirmed it. It was wrong right from the start: 1.) the self check-in does not work, and I am forced to pay and make an international call to help desk to fix. 2.) the lighting in the room does not work, and I am told by the cleaning lady that no one will fix lighting till after the weekend (by then I woudl have checked out) 3.) the air-condioner makes noise every once and a while throughout the night, and of course no one can help; 4.) there is just no one you can contact to get any issues fixed it's definitey worse experience than some youth hostel we stayed in, and the latter is a lot cheaper.

Overall this is a good place to stay, though the en-suite shower was tiny and the digital keys you use to unlock the main doors and your room are on a browser, so if your phone dies or you can’t connect to the WiFi you would have a problem (though the hotel has its own WiFi so this shouldn’t be a problem unless power goes out).

The staff was great although they didn’t have enough knowledge about transportation or places of interest. Carpet was extremely all throughout the hotel. The lighting in the room was too strong and in one’s face. One usb outlet didn’t work. The iron board was too dented and the iron was cracked and chipped off at the tip that it could rip your clothes. Not enough towels because they don’t dry quick enough after a shower.

The Lubo is located in a very happening part of town. Charming squares, tons of restaurants and bars were footsteps away. The famous wooden bridge was a short walk and so was the promenade along the river. Lucerne main station is walkable, but be aware of the cobbled streets which make dragging trolley bags and strollers with small wheels difficult. Room was compact and fun with a queen size bed and two top bunks. Only complaint is that the AC was not very effective. We set it at 19 degrees C but the room wasn’t cooling at all which meant we were sweating all night. However we found that this is pretty common across Switzerland and we have been told across Europe. Definitely recommend staying here, we found it more cost efficient than other hotels in the area. The breakfast in the hotel cafe was yummy. Make sure you cross check the reservation number before you reach. The two numbers Expedia provided did not work so we had to call and get the right number.

The room is very small. We had a 4 bed room. 2 of them are fine. The 2 other ones are very small and not very comfortable for other than small children. Great area. Walkable, lots of food option. Check-in was challenging and I had to call since the reservation number I had was not recognized.

Was a very convenient location. Parking was not easy as you could not reach the hotel by car even to drop off luggage. The staff were very helpful and polite, room was clean but a little tired. We don’t spend a lot of time in the room so was fine for our stay!

Really great modern accommodation in the heart of the old town of Lucerne. Staying with 2 teenage kids in same room, just about fitted into the high bunks. Only negative was the one feather pillow which deflated to nothing once your head hit it, so better pillows is my only gripe.

Amazing stay!

I got really scared reading the other reviews and almost canceled. Im very happy that I didn't cancel. The place was super comfortable. I reserved a room with the kitchen. Kitchen and utensils where good. Space was awesome. Loved the decor of the whole studio. Some reviews state that theres nowhere to leave luggage, that is un true. They have a place to leave luggage very accesible. It has an elevator, place is kinda like a small maze, some stair will be inevitable but not so much. Just a couple of steps. Laundry service was awesome, download an app, pay through there, have your space reserved and done! They have a tea and spakling water faucet in this same room that is superb! Additional coffee at Rokka is amazing!

Extremely difficult self check in, they never sent the email, I contacted The property several times…attempted to do the kiosk and it was not working so we had to call the hotel. After over 30 min we were finally in our room and then everything was ok. It’s just not what you want after a long travel day.
