Historic house in the artistic village of Brè (THE SECRET GARDEN)
The Secret Garden is the perfect place to immerse yourself in the timeless tranquility of an ancient Ticinese village. This historic property is situated in the heart of the charming streets of Brè, a picturesque hamlet surrounded by nature, just minutes away from the breathtaking views of Lake Lugano and its vibrant city.
As you walk through the characteristic cobblestone paths, you\'ll be welcomed into a bright living room furnished with a comfortable three-seater sofa, a coffee table, a dining table for four, and a cabinet with a flat-screen TV. The true highlights of this space are the large stone fireplace and the traditional decorative flooring, which lend the room a captivating historical and rustic character.
The kitchen, adjacent to the living room and equipped with essential appliances and kitchen utensils, combines the charm of the era with modern comfort.
On the upper floor, the house offers three spacious bedrooms with wooden floors—two with double beds and one with a single bed—all featuring wardrobes or coat racks for storing clothes and personal belongings. The large bathroom, with its classic touches, is complete with a bidet and a bathtub.
From the sleeping area, guests can access the lovely private garden, which includes a table for outdoor dining and comfortable loungers to enjoy the wonderful mild climate of Ticino.
A set of towels is provided for each guest in the living room, along with bed linens, blankets, and a welcome kit. We also leave a basket with essentials for breakfast.
Free Wi-Fi is available for guests.
Please note that there is no private parking. There are two large paid parking areas approximately 200 meters away.

Just a short walk from the property, the Wilhelm Schmid Museum offers a chance to discover the history and creations of the homonymous artist. Furthermore, the summit of Monte Brè provides stunning views of the Gulf of Lugano and the surrounding mountains, along with numerous nature trails. The city of Lugano, situated at the foot of the mountain and also accessible via the funicular, offers a wide range of services and attractions.
How to get there:
By car: From the A2 highway, take the “Lugano Sud” exit and drive along Lake Lugano towards the “Castagnola” area. From Strada di Gandria, begin the ascent towards the village of Brè along Via Aldesago. It takes about 25 minutes from the highway exit to reach the property.
By train: From Lugano station, take bus number 2 towards Castagnola and get off at the “Lugano Centro” stop (3 stops, approximately 4 minutes). From there, take bus number 12 towards “Brè, paese” until the last stop. Walk about 3 minutes to reach the property.
