About this property
1 Bed in Bream (oc-m43316)
A secluded hideaway for couples seeking to get away from it all, this cosy cabin sits within a meadow in private grounds in the heart of the Forest of Dean. While it’s the kind of off-grid haven where you could happily while away your entire stay, there’s plenty to do nearby if you do fancy exploring. The village of Bream sits at the end of the gravel track from the site, less than a mile away, with a traditional pub for enjoying meals out and shops for stocking up on supplies. The Forest of Dean has trails to suit all tastes, from inspiring sculpture walks to challenging mountain bike routes through the trees. Clearwell Caves (3 miles) is a fascinating underground experience with nine caverns to explore, while Puzzlewood (4 miles) is a magical woodland attraction with twisting pathways that you might recognise from films and TV shows.
Built from reclaimed materials, the cabin is a model of sustainability and blends seamlessly into its natural surroundings. Step inside and you’ll find yourself in the spacious kitchen/diner, which is wonderfully rustic, with rich wood panelling and exposed ceiling beams. It’s equipped with all the essentials for your stay, with a generously sized table and chairs for leisurely dining. Picture windows to the front offer calming views of the meadow as you potter around. Just off the kitchen is a bathroom with a double walk-in shower and WC. Also off the kitchen is the cosy lounge/bedroom area, also with meadow views. Settle back on the sofas in front of the warming wood burner as the evening draws in, before drifting off into a deep sleep in the comfortable double bed.
Being outdoors and at one with nature is one of the best aspects of this peaceful retreat, and you’re free to roam the grounds at your leisure. Outside the cabin is a table and chairs for summer al fresco dining, while the surrounding meadow has a fire pit, seating and a pair of outdoor baths for enjoying soaks beneath the stars. From here, you’ll also have direct access to the area’s ancient woodlands, allowing you to experience scenic walks from your doorstep. Just before you reach the wooden gate, there’s a dedicated parking area for two cars.
