Check in was a fiasco! The so-called property manager we never met and we were told he was the son of the owner and he and his girlfriend lived full-time in the basement. Heather and her son were at the home when we arrived and she had no knowledge about the arrangement yet she was our contact person for issues. Seems odd and misleading. Her son ran through the house and jumped on the furniture. I had to ask Heather to wash her dirty dishes; she was cooking and eating when we arrived. We had to contact Heather later - not the "property manager" - to get the Internet access information. We had to ask her to respond in English and not Chinese. There was open food left in the refrigerator and freezer; countertops and furniture was sticky to the touch. Only an old bath towel was provided, no hand towel or washcloth and it smelled dirty. The bedding cleanliness was questionable. Most furniture was marked for owner use only with very little (if at all) closet space for hanging clothes or luggage. There was an excessive amount of insecure personal items. Chairs without cushions, crawling bugs, exposed outlets and fire detector, unlocked back door, dirty indoor and outdoor furniture - just a few things. The "property manager" - owner's son's music was loud and late into the night. The music could be heard on the third level. Smells from downstairs were very strong. It's a shame the experience was dismal and uncomfortable at best because the house layout was nice.
