Decent hotel

Staff all friendly and polite, very helpful. Restaurant is ok but expensive. Breakfast is rather limited but nice enough. It was July so very hot, there is no air conditioning (which is clearly advertised to be fair) which was a bit uncomfortable but they had provided a large fan and the room was ready with the window open for me making it as comfortable as it could be. Room was clean enough and fine for my requirements as it was literally just sleep, eat and go every day. There is a small fridge provided which was helpful.

Great base of a high standard

Three night stay to attend a music festival. The reception area is large, airy and with plenty of seating and has a great little Starbucks counter. The checking in process was flawless and staff were professional and friendly. Our room was spacious, clean and comfortable albeit a little tired in areas. There was no AC but two fans had been provided which did the trick. The buffet breakfast was excellent, especially the cooked sausage! And totally set us up for the day. It is possible to walk into town but it is also on a bus route which stops across the road from the hotel. For what we wanted this hotel gave us it and more.

Initially struggled to get parked as very full car park. Check in was easy and very straight forward. Room was a great size and welcoming. Beds were comfortable. No air con but a floor fan was provided although it was loud so sleep was a little broken. Breakfast was standard but was impressed with the gluten free options they had on offer. The crockery was stained at breakfast and in room but. Tea and coffee options available in room. With decaf coffee available. No hot chocolate which my children would have liked.

Overall, our stay was a positive experience, made before and during the Kent show.The reception staff were very helpful. The bar/ staff restaurant staff were excelllent. Our room was clean, spacious with 2 king sized beds. It was at the rear of the hotel on the first floor, above the vehicle unloading area (very noisy at 5am). Food was very good, including the breakfast. The hotel is in short walking distance to large Next and M and S stores, which is useful. My wife and I ate in the bar area and the outside patio, which was very nice with excellent service (this saves 8 pounds which is the service charge in the restaurant). We particularly liked the offer of not having the room serviced over a 2 day stay in exchange for a 20 per cent reduction in food and bar including alcohol.It was very hot whilst we were staying and air conditioning would have been useful as we could have closed the window ( see noise comment above). On the first night the women in the next room were very noisy and were loudly arguing in a foreign language until 0230 in the morning. This was not the hotels fault. All other nights were peaceful. In summary, we would definately stay at Orida Maidstone again.

Rooms are very spacious but no air con. Some bathroom fittings are showing their age. Evening menu could be more interesting, seems a bit limited. Breakfast was excellent. Swimming pool and gym excellent.
