The Neighborhood:
Nestled in the southern Cotswolds, Sherston is a charming village and the perfect base for a relaxing countryside escape. From Lantern House, you’re just a short stroll from the village Post Office and grocery shop, which stocks delicious local produce, ideal for picking up fresh ingredients or a quick snack. There’s a large children’s playground and recreation field just a few minutes walk away, complete with an obstacle course - perfect for families with little ones.
Food lovers are spoiled for choice. The Rattlebone Inn serves excellent pub classics in a cosy, welcoming atmosphere. The Angel café is a favourite for breakfast, brunch or afternoon tea. Lucy Tom's courtyard café offers a great selection of toasties and paninis, while The Bridge Indian restaurant and takeaway delivers top-notch curries just minutes from your door.
Sherston is also a gateway to some of the Cotswolds’ most picturesque spots. Take scenic walks right from the doorstep through rolling fields and quiet lanes. Visit Lacock, a stunning National Trust village featured in Harry Potter, Cranford, and Pride and Prejudice. Castle Combe, another must-see, is famous for its postcard-perfect charm and appearances in films like War Horse and Dr Dolittle. Just a short drive away, Westonbirt Arboretum offers one of the world’s most beautiful tree gardens. Stunning in every season and a delight for walkers, nature lovers, and photographers alike. Numerous luxury hotels and spas are also within easy reach, such as Whatley Manor Hotel & Spa.
Whether you’re here for peace and quiet, great food, countryside walks, or cultural day trips, Sherston offers the best of Cotswolds living in a welcoming and beautiful village setting.
