Microtel was new for me. For the money, it was very good. Only negative for me was the lack of a closet when I had 75% of hung clothes. The pegs were quaint, but not the best for business travelers. Didn't discover the two small drawers hidden behind the second bed, halfway into my stay. There will be a next time, overall, I am impressed.

VERY cramped quarters. Room phone did not work. Minimal bathroom counter space, and towels hanging on pegs in bathroom obstructed the tp roll.

You need to fix the door lock on room 314. Only one of my 2 keys would open the door. It is a nice to place to stay. The breakfast could be a little better.

A little grubby

I’ve stayed at this hotel many times since 2011. I come almost every year to visit family. The upgrades in the rooms is wonderful it looks very nice. The facility itself was dirty. Lots of trash outside. People loitering by the entry way smoking and drinking. It was a little unsettling to walk through these people to get inside to access our room.

The staff was nice but the furnishings in the room were not upgraded, the floor and tub was dirty. Doors and walls were very thin. During the night of our stay, someone continued to prop open the side door which would have allowed anyone to walk in. Despite us closing it, it stayed open. This is a huge safety issue for me.

Property was convenient to everything in New Ulm but no bathroom was very outdated and there was very strong cleaning smell as off trying to cover up odors. Also, there was no drinking water to be found, including vending, in the entire building except for tapwater. Breakfast sausage, “eggs” were frozen and needed to be microwaved

The hotel was convenient. The rooms were very small and throughout our stay, the hallway on the third floor getting off of the elevator had a very strong odor of cigarette smoke. The pool area's floor was dirty with noticeable debris on the floor, hot tub had a yellowish colored water, the vents above the pool were all black that extended to the ceiling around the vents. At 9:00 AM, there was very little continental breakfast items available and the counters were filthy with spilled cereals and other food and liquid.- no one around cleaning up or refilling empty items. I'd sleep in my vehicle before staying at this hotel again.
