Charming 17th Century 2-Bed Cottage in Medmenham

A very warm welcome to our beautiful 17th century grade 2 listed cottage, a much loved property in the charming and historic village of MEDMENHAM (betwixt Marlow on Thames and Henley on Thames, only 3 miles from each town centre) deep in the heart of rural Buckinghamshire/Chilterns (an area of outstanding natural beauty).
Boasting oak beams, inglenook fireplace with log burner in cozy living room, 2 double bedrooms, modern kitchen, walk-in shower room, well presented exterior space for socialising (including a picture perfect garden-patio with large cast iron fire-pit BBQ). This recently renovated cottage makes the perfect romantic holiday home for couples or a restful family gathering. Everything about this property has been well thought through to create a relaxed and luxurious feeling (including original oil paintings, vintage/antique furniture plus a large wall mounted Ultra HD TV with surround sound. Connected to Netflix, Amazon Prime, on demand TV apps and live digital TV stations).

As a self-catering cottage, you'll find everything you need for a perfect stay.
The modern kitchen has a fridge, a hob, an oven, a kettle, a freezer, a microwave and a tumble washer/dryer.
The cottage is a perfect place to relax (very quiet and secluded location in ancient disused chalk quarry) and offers wall mounted televisions in the living room, both bedrooms as well as internet access. Property benefits from recently installed German made "Fischer" electric central heating/hot water system and Solar Power System. Electric Car Charger can be made available by separate arrangement.

The location benefits from being a short walk to the famous and delightful 14th century pub/restaurant Dog & Badger (via a private connecting walk way. Highly recommended for wonderful food and drink).
Bus route 800/850 services High Wycombe/Marlow/Medmenham/Henley/Reading just one minutes walk to Henley Road from the cottage. So why not take a stroll to Henley alone the Thames Path (wonderful river walk) and then enjoy a lovely evening meal at one of Henley's fine restaurants before catching the bus back to Medmenham (Dog & Badger Pub Bus Stop from either direction). Ideal for a Summer break as well as a Christmas and New Year getaway. Tasteful festive decorations, lights and Christmas tree provided (see pictures for example).

This cottage has 2 double beds/bedrooms and can comfortably sleep 4.

The restroom has a toilet, sink and a fully fitted luxury walk-in shower.

Linen and towels are all included to make your stay more enjoyable.

An excellent base for Henley Royal Regatta/Henley Festival as well as Marlow's famous restaurants and nightlife. Great for river trips/walks along the Thames as well exploring the outstanding natural beauty of the Chilterns in Buckinghamshire.

Marlow and Food

perfect. Clive the perfect Host! This little cottage, beautifully conserved and off the road with virtually its own private pub. As a base for our travels from Shipslake, to Henley, Oxford and Bray, it couldn't have been better sited. Two short walks are compulsory, one to the iron age fort site (very little evidence left) and the Anglo Saxon church on the other side of the road and two to the river and memorial. Not much further, but with a car and you have the Village of Hambledon (and Pub) and the Lock. We'd do it all again
