Pleasant and helpful staff.
Nice clean rooms and bathrooms, however ac was not too good so luckily it wasn't too hot when we went.
Breakfast was amazing and nice clean swimming pools.
Would consider staying here again.
I spent a week at this hotel with my wife and 8 year old son. There is a huge pool and two other smaller ones which kept my son happy and occupied much of the time. The rooms are large with two double beds, fridge, flat screen TV and bathroom. Breakfast was good with a broad selection of food available. I would definitely stay at this hotel again and recommend it to friends and family. Good location, easy to get a taxi into the medina or walk it in around 15 - 20 minutes (depending on the time of year it may be too hot to walk it).

Review- Aug 2012
The swimming pool was great (although no life guard) and really the best thing about the hotel. Also, the proximity to the airport and the centre of town were also a bonus.
However on the negative side, I found the drinks and food in the hotel expensive (a can of coke was 25DH - normally 10 to 15DH elsewhere) and the food not to be great. Most people ate outside but I found this hard to co-ordinate with 2 young kids.
The staff were badly organized and not too friendly. The service wasnt great. There was no animation in the evening for the kids which was a shame.
Most of all, I was totally annoyed with the hotel charging us 300DH for "losing" 2 towels which we said we had taken. We had not taken them and I felt we werent the first ones to have encountered this problem.
I wouldnt go back.

Good all round hotel
Not perfect but good value and good spa and pool
Good location
Good value hotel for families and groups, great swimming pool and many restaurants/bars around it. Good buffet breakfast. Very convenient from the airport, but far from the medina/city center (you need a taxi ride).
Noice from adjoining rooms, the bathroom was not particularly clean, the beds were clean though, would not recommend the restaurant of the hotel at all (a trap), however there are few alternatives to eat but there. Swimming pool was OK. Ladies at reception start to check you in and then continue with other people, also the ordered taxi early in the morning did not arrive, we had to order another one. Wake up call was OK. Would not stay there again.
Really enjoyed this hotel, good location and nice rooms. Little dated but clean and very good value for the price. Staff friendly but not in your face, perfect balance. Great pools which are really needed due to the heat. I would go back.
So sad to come back such a lovely country and great hotel. you should definately go there, but one thing nothing is free in marrakech not even a picture of a performer. dont agree the price quoted always do bargaining. cant wait to go back. loved the hotel .
great hotel to stay in for one night and then get out of there as there is amazing places to stay in the very city centre one called central palace ,so cheap and perfectly located,im a back packer so.......Nice for 1 day...peace out
You don't have to get out of the hotel to have a great holiday
More luck than research in the choice of this hotel, Marrakesh is a hard city to visit, the noise, the locals being very "heavy" in their offerings, the constant price abuse as soon as they see you as a tourist, etc. So being able to travel 5 minutes away from the noise and dynamics from the center of town to an oasis of peace and great service was fantastic.
We were considering staying in one of the Riads in town and we are really relieved that we didn't do that and stayed in the Mirage resort, specially because we had a 7 y"o boy with us..
Definitely a great choice and recommend to fellow travelers.
Don't miss the excellent breakfast buffet, was wonderful.
This hotel was very nice and handy from airport - the first stop on the number 19 bus route from airport will get you there. Although it is probably just as cheap to get a petit taxi if only 2 of you. The Djemaa El Fna is a 25 minute walk from the hotel so I would recommend walking 1 way then getting a taxi the other. Taxis are very cheap and shouldn't cost more than 50 dirhims to or from town. The gym was closed for refurbishment during our stay, and it was too cold to use the pool. The buffet breakfast was really good, we particularly enjoyed the freshly made msemen moroccan pancake and the freshly made omelettes.
The price seemed very good for a hotel of this standard with breakfast included. A lot of people will want to experience a riad instead but we found they were more expensive so we opted for this instead.
We enjoyed this hotel!! I do not know about the 5 star rating........but it was VERY comfortable.. The front desk staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. Only a few minutes away from the airport.........and a taxi or bus to the Medina, etc..........
The breakfast buffet had lots of choices........lots of fresh fruits... omelets ......pastries....cheese.........
We were not too impressed with the dinner buffet........ but the menu choices were good.

Value for money
The hotel is the former Sheraton hotel in Marrakech in the new part of the city. It has very nice surroundings and about 25 min walk to the Jemaa El Fna square. It is also convenient for the airport being the first stop on the nr 19 bus from the airport.
Breakfast is also excellent.
On the downside, the hotel rooms could do with an update. The room furniture is worn and the bathroom could do with a refurbishment. It is however adequate.
Overall Marrakech has better hotels, but probably not at this price.
Very pleasant stay in Marrakesh, my wife was extremely pleased with the hotel location and all the facilities it had to offer. The staff were very professional and polite. especially Abdel Latif. I would book my stay in this hotel when I next visit Marrakesh as well as recommend it to anyone traveling there.
Well Done Expedia a great hotel at a great price..!!
A Nightmare! Old brown dirty room worthy of the favellas!!! Breakfast with three days pld dry hard bread and croissant. A Nightmare....Stay away.

Glad I only stayed one night!
Hotel Room lacks the basic stuff that usual 5 star have, no bath robes but only small towels no slippers, outdated TV, rooms are too small for 5*. Overall room condition need some modernizing. I would rank this hotel as 4 star.
Breakfast service bellow average. I would not stay at Royal mirage again.
This hotel does not deserve the 5 star rating. Poor service, particularly at restaurants (breakfast precisely). Poor food quality and no variety. It felt like it was a Student Hostal.
Service in Morocco is very poor in general, no matter how many stars you give to a hotel or a restaurant. I am Moroccan so nothing against my country.
The only thing to single out in this hotel is the reception area.
The hotel made me pay some kind of tax, which I thought it was all paid for
As wrote earlier it is a shame because the location is okay, hotel is nice and quiet but room was very dated definitely not 5 star I would struggle to give it a 1 star because of cleanliness and worn out curtains etc, don't get me wrong I am not a fussy person but If I pay for a 5 star hotel I do expect it to be somewhere near average not below it, the TV remote never worked so I told them they did send someone along to have a look who promptly took away the remote but never brought it back... wouldnt recommend it because of these things

Quite good
No five stars hotel, more like three.
Made us wait for more than four hours to check in, even everybody already checked out. You need to complaint to have the rooms given.however staff very friendly
