The Black Bear is a 3 Bed 2 Bath, 2 level cabin located inside the Massanutten 4 season resort .
This newly renovated family getaway is situated @ quiet cul de sac + private lot backing to woods, Patio, fire pit and cornhole.
Main Level has remodeled kitchen with open living, coffee bar, new fireplace, relax on Deck with amazing views. 1 Queen Bed + 2 Bunk beds.
Basement lvl- Foosball, Pellet stove, huge master w/Kingbed, Walkout backyard/patio.
Tesla charger(NEMA14-50R) + Addtl air mattress
The space
Bedrooms

Main level has 2 bedrooms, One bedroom has a queen bed with walk in closet and access to a full bathroom, while the other bedroom has 2 bunk beds which can sleep 4 to 5 kids or adults (one full and 3 twin beds).

Lower level has a huge master bedroom with a king bed and access to a separate dual vanity along with a full bathroom. The master bedroom is completed with a sitting area with views of the large backyard and woods.

Living Room

There are 2 living rooms on main and basement level for the guests to enjoy The main floor living room is spacious open floor plan is right by the kitchen with an electric fireplace and Smart TV with Netflix included. Additional subscriptions for other streaming services are also available for you to enjoy (with your own account). There is direct access to the deck from inside and outside the house with amazing views from the living room.

The lower level living room has a TV and PS3 with built in Blu-Ray player and foosball table for entertainment. Plenty of board games and Movies are available for guests entertainment.
A Pellet stove in the basement is available for those cold days where you can sip your coffee or wine alongside the fireplace and enjoy a book or a movie looking outside the wooded landscape
The walkout basement leads to a covered patio to enjoy the beautiful views of the woods and mountain that Massanutten has to offer. A short walk in the backyard you will see a small stream and hear soothing sounds of nature.

Kitchen

The kitchen has service for 12+ and is fully equipped including a toaster, coffee machine, crock pot, pots and pans, and all the utensils that you will need.

Bath

2 Full baths are available on each level of the house. One bath is equipped with a soaking tub and lower level has a standing shower.

Additional Information

EV Charger is available in front with NEMA 14-50 electrical outlet outside (Level 2 220 Volt) . (Please bring your own cable/adapter for charging).
A laundry room with washer and dryer is available for guest use.
Additional storage for your ski equipment is in the basement.
Home is Dog friendly and a big backyard for them to play. Please make sure to add your pet to the reservation, and note that there is a $50 pet cleaning fee.

Overall we enjoyed the experience, though there were a few disappointing elements. The listing advertises a Tesla charger, but there is no charger, only an outlet on the outside of the house. Had we brought our own cord, it would not have mattered. It was probably 20 feet from the house where the port is to the area where you can park a car and no portable cords are that long. I suspect had there not been so much snow on the ground you may have been able to get closer. The pellet stove in the basement was not working (there was a sign on it saying don't use), which made it too cold to really spend time down there. Also, there was no soap or shampoo for the showers. On the positive side, the house is in a great location for access to the mountain and it was very spacious. The large, cozy main room was a great one to spend time in (particularly during the rainy weather we had). That said, the furniture is not very comfortable and the couch is much too small for that space. Also, the kitchen sink area is in need of repair. The sink leaks and there's mold growing underneath it. Highlights for us were the pop-a-shot machine in the basement and the keurig machine was great for quickly making tea. All-in-all we enjoyed our time, but would not return unless some repairs and a few upgrades are made.

We had a great two night stay this winter. Brought 3 kids and a friend all almost adults. 6 people total. We liked the layout with the first two bedrooms, one with queen bed and the other with comfortable bunk beds on the top floor. The open kitchen and sunny family room with a spacious deck overlooking the ravine felt homey, inviting and peaceful. The house is located at the end of the cul-de-sac and backs out into the woods with a gorgeous long trail that we took our dog for a walk. We enjoyed the tranquility of the big master bedroom with king-size bed downstairs, and our private bathroom. That level also has its own walkout to the patio on the ground level and an entertainment room. Both levels have cosy fireplaces. Overall the house is very functional and could easily accommodate 2-4 people more. It has a big laundry room and a storage room for skis. We liked to be so close to the slopes, the gym, and the pool that my husband used because he couldn’t ski this season. The communication with the host was a breeze and instruction for checking in and out were straightforward. We would love to come again.

Location of the house was great, the house was clean. Appreciate that it’s dog friendly. They had plenty of glassware/dinnerware but cooking supplies were minimal given how many people the place can hold. Overall it felt like the property is doing the bare minimum. There are parts of bathroom trim literally held in by duct tape, very crookedly mounted bathroom vanities, broken/cracked filthy outdoor chairs for the fire pit. A lot of little things that could be improved to make the place feel like a vacation home. When you spend thousands of dollars for a 5 day stay, and they charge a fee for trash removal it starts to feel silly. The dumpster is about a 5 min drive and the trash can they provided in the kitchen was tiny. The instructions for the pellet stove mentioned everything except that the flue outside needed to be opened, so the first night the house nearly got smoked out and so we hesitated to use it again leaving the dimly lit cold basement unused. Overall the place served its purpose for our crew, we had no major issues but it left much to be desired.

Awesome experience at the black bear cabin

This property was magnificent, the hosts were extremely responsive, and so many amenities that were such a surprise. From the little marshmallow chocolate graham cracker treats to hot chocolate, and abundance of towels, detergent, laundry detergent, utensils, plates, and every cookware you could imagine. The home was stunning so clean beds were comfortable, literally, they thought of everything. Two complete living spaces, a beautiful modern kitchen, all of the bathrooms and bedrooms and a stunning fireplace brick wall that is electric and changed colors. The downstairs has a game room and a lovely extra living quarters. This was one of the most magnificent homes we have ever stayed in. Its location is literally two minutes from the ski lodge, the setting is beautiful. Backyard is big and upper and lower deck, we have stayed in a lot of homes, and we certainly ranked this as our number one. Being able to bring air to dogs was a plus for us, in addition they had so many games and books for children. This was an outstanding getaway for us and we will certainly book this home for a longer stay next time.

Great place from which to enjoy Massanutten

We spent the weekend riding the bike park and playing at the water park in the afternoons. House was perfect for our needs and we would definitely come again when we return (kids already working on us to schedule this).

Cute, Cozy Cabin

The back of the Cabin overlooks the woods and is very private. The cabin has two levels and places to sit outdoors on both the upper deck and lower patio. The beds were comfortable. The host thoughtfully left rolled blankets near the fireplace upstairs. The instructions regarding check in and check out were clear.
