Safey-Lax Hotel

The staff were nice, but the hotel was in disrepair. There were multiple stains on the sheets, walls, light fixtures, and blinds. The TV was clearly impacted by something as it was partially broken: about 50% of the picture was green with about 10% of the screen not working at all. Additionally, there were multiple safety issues in the building. The fire doors into the stairways didn't appear to actually be fire doors. There were no certification labels and they felt hollow. There was a sprinkler in the bathroom that's supposed to be used in industrial applications (green rating, 220°F) instead of the correct rating (red or orange). This means the sprinkler will activate at the wrong temperature. The elevator needed maintenance and had no posted permit.

The room was cold when I got in, then I noticed the thermostat was set for 61F...😹 They definitely try hard here & the airport shuttle is the win for me every time!

Ratty location, with a parking lot too small for all guests, so we had to park at the gas station next to it. Tweakers in the parking lot on chairs and bicycles made us nervous to have our vehicle farther away. The room was clean, but needed updating with dingy fixtures. The staff was the gem of the stay. Very friendly, accommodating and kind.
