Hotel security deposit scam!

What kind of policy is this? Even after paying in full for a 8-night stay, the hotel still demands an additional $350 as a deposit — an amount equivalent to nearly two extra nights. What exactly is this massive deposit for? But the issue isn’t just the size of the deposit or the policy itself. The real frustration lies in the refund process. Once you check out, getting your money back becomes a vague, ambiguous affair. The responsibility is casually shifted to the “card policy,” as if that absolves the hotel of any accountability. Let’s be clear: if the deposit wasn’t used and was simply blocked, it should be released back into the account within hours — not days. I checked out on the 18th of July at 9 AM, and as I write this on 22nd July noon, the deposit still hasn’t been returned. This isn’t just poor service — it feels like a borderline scam. Travelers, be aware. Always read the fine print and don’t let hotels trap your money under the guise of “policy.”
