Problems that can be avoided.

The air conditioning system is terrible and room didnt cool down until 6am in the morning. I requested for room 1242 when I booked more than 3 weeks ago. It wasn't met.

The hotel is in a good area. The breakfast is basic. The room was horrible, very small, very loud both outside and inside the hotel, we could hear practically everything that was happening in the rooms next door. We couldn't rest at all. The conditions are at most one star.

Below average stay this time.

The location of the Hotel is very good. The lift was broken and only one lift was operational. It was very hot in the lift and people were jamming into the lift otherwise it was taking too long to go down. It was a safety issue. the stairwell was also blocked now making the situation a fire hazard. I was scared of the second lift getting stuck due to the over-crowding but I had to get out of the building as quickly as possible it was scary. I am reluctant to stay there again. Also the price of the room was elevated due to the Australian Open, which I expected, but you were only given extras on request eg shower cap. I also needed a bandaid and the front desk staff rolled their eyes when I requested one, however they did get one from their first aid kit.

Booked through Wotif and paid and when we arrived at the hotel we used the self check in kiosk. We were under the impression the kiosk asked for our credit card details as authorisation it was us who booked the accomodation. Upon checking our credit card the next day we had been charged again for the one night stay. When queried at reception we were assured this would be refunded, instead an additional amount was taken for the night. Upon returning home and several transfer later on the phone I was assured both charges would be refunded. We ended up putting in disputes to our bank for the refunds.

Wilson carparking for the hotel is a fair way away from the hotel. Room was small but nice. A lot of noise from people coming and going from hallway during the night and water pressure in shower was terrible.

Mantra Little Bourke Street

The location was perfect. The room was very comfortable and big enough for two of us. Check in was easy. The mattresses were terrible. Springs stuck into us and made it very uncomfortable to sleep. The next morning I requested extra doonas to put on the mattress which made it better. I also told them the mattresses needed to be thrown out. I intend staying there again. Breakfast buffet was great.

A stay with a shopping convenience.

This is a simple hotel right in the Middle of the Melbourne CBD. Next door to David Jones. The rooms are very small but ok for a solo trip for one night. Window had a view of a wall and the room was very dark. I have stayed in the front facing rooms before which are brighter. Room clean and tidy. Large shower
