Lovely interior but check street view
Our recent birthday holiday stay had its positives, but unfortunately, it didn't fully meet our expectations. The communication with the hosts was excellent—they were welcoming and even greeted us with Welsh cakes and a bottle of Prosecco to celebrate my birthday, which was a lovely touch. The interior of the property was well done up, reflecting the effort put into its presentation.
However, the location was not what we had anticipated. In hindsight, we should have checked the street view more thoroughly. While the property was advertised as family and pet friendly, our experience suggested otherwise. The carpet on the stairs and in the hallway had a very old, stale cigarette smell that lingered on our clothes even after we had left. This was a significant downside, especially considering we had a young baby with us.
Moreover, taking our dog out for a walk was inconvenient. The nearest patch of grass was a 10-minute walk away, which made it challenging for quick bathroom breaks.
Ultimately, we found ourselves disappointed. The photos in the listing were enticing, but the reality did not live up to our expectations. Due to the smell and the location issues, we couldn't stay for the entire duration of our booking.
While there were certainly positive aspects to our stay, the negatives unfortunately outweighed them, leading to an overall unsatisfactory experience.
