We really enjoyed our stay here. We prefer small, boutique-style hotels with architectural character. The location, in easy walking distance (25 min) of much of the historic center of Mexico City, was ideal. The rooms were very clean and well kept. There was an expansive Mexican style breakfast included in the room rate, filling and varied. Most importantly, the staff are efficient, courteous, and extremely kind. They deserve a daily tip every day!

Everything was excellent during our stay, the staff was very friendly at all times, and the daily breakfast was a big plus! Good location around the Zocalo, making it easy to navigate through all of Mexico City! Only area for improvement I saw was the bed, but did the work for what is needed. We enjoyed our stay at Colmena, it was beautiful, simple and location was amazing. My favorite part was the breakfast, authentic homestyle breakfast! Reyna and the rest of the staff were welcoming and friendly. The only con, though not a dealbreaker, was no AC in the rooms, we did have a fan in our room however México City weather is pretty hot and humid so an AC would be nice. Other than that we loved our stay.
