Had business in the city and made a quick trip to Mexico City. The Alest was a superb property and will definitely be back. I have stayed at a neighboring property around the corner for 3 times as much and this was just as nice. Excellent value and highly recommend.

Our stay at The Alest Hotel was incredibly mixed. On the positive side the hotel is aesthetically pleasing, had a lovely Christmas atmosphere and has some good touches like the Mexican candies on arrival and a restocked minibar each day. We also had good interactions with a number of members of staff including the breakfast waiters and housekeeping. However, on a negative side and what’s drags the rating down is the level of noise in the rooms at the hotel and the lack of appreciation or action by the concierge/reception staff towards this. The rooms are advertised as soundproofed and this is not the case. The windows are French style doors which have glazing but do not seal effectively and the door does not fit the doorframe (due to the unique shape selected for the doors) and is hollow thus does not block noise. This caused us issues on 3/6 nights due to the level of noise in our room being too loud to sleep, on two nights this could be heard through headphones. The issue as we see it is that the interior void/courtyard leads directly down to the bar and restaurant with no noise separation. In my view two things should be true; that you can enjoy a restful night in the rooms, and people should be free to enjoy the bar. Sadly the hotel has not equipped itself to allow both. As the hotel had no interest in resolving the issue and the way our concerns were dealt with in our view this was not a customer service focussed hotel. I couldn’t recommend this hotel.

We loved our stay at the Alest! Beautiful boutique hotel: modern, lovely decoration, wonderful service! The location in Polanco is unbeatable with many walkable options nearby yet on a quiet street. Breakfast is delicious. We have found our new place when visiting Mexico City!

Well appointed comfortable rooms in a very safe if somewhat impersonal neighbothood with upscale shopping and residences. Plenty of dining options and night life nearby as well as a great restaurant in house. The staff was particularly responsive and helpful and made our 5 day stay delightful
