Late Check in
The room was nice but the only thing is the late check in at 4pm is a bit late for a check in seeing that you need to check out 11am next day!
This was a really nice place to stay. Close to the main strip, close shopping stores and restaurants. My only complaint is the pool was not clean but the beach wasn’t far so that made up for that.
This is an Art Deco hotel but acts more like an apt. It’s currently under construction. The room was large and you could open the windows for fresh air. Linens and bed were comfy. Staff were friendly. But don’t expect room service or house keeping daily. What makes this place great is it’s location. It’s near everything. No elevator. Area around hotel is safe but could be better kept up by the city.

I loved the location and the size of the room. I loved that there were enough towels in the room for my whole stay. There was a small fridge and a large sofa. The bathroom was large with a tub and shower combo and lots of counter space for all my stuff. the only issue I had was that the room was not soundproof. I heard every single step and this went on until 2 am. from the room above me, either it was rude quests or construction being done.
I loved the aesthetic and area surrounding the hotel but the service needs work. Specifically when it comes to linen and towel replacement.
It’s seems a bit impossible to reach someone when they aren’t at the front desk and no one comes to replace these necessities naturally. We had issues with the A/C and that was handled promptly. But I went to the lobby to ask for cleans wash cloths and no one was available. I texted the number provided by the on duty desk official and never received a response.

It's what you get at a 2 star
The room size was great, but it wasn't the cleanest place. The downstairs area looked like it was in mid renovation. Never saw a single staff person. The supposed coffee area had nothing to offer.

My sister and her family stayed at Astor hotel maybe 20 years ago. It was completely different. It had a restaurant.
I recently stayed at the Hotel Astor for nine days. Although I did enjoy my stay, it wasn’t completely what I was expecting. Here are the pro’s and con’s of my stay there.
Pro’s:
Location - you’re a short walk from the beach, about two blocks. It’s very close to Ocean Dr so you’re just a few steps away from all the restaurants, but still far away enough to not be disturbed at night by any noise. There’s a CVS right across the street and a supermarket on the next block.
Con’s - unfortunately, the building is in desperate need of repair. The room doesn’t fully resemble the pictures they show as they are from way back when the hotel was in its glory days.
Multiple lights weren’t working, both toilets did not flush properly, I had to fill the trash can with water to flush.
Vents in the bathroom did not work
The mini fridge did not work even after a few days of having it plugged it because it wasn’t when we got there.
The furniture was in decent conditions, but they did seem a bit old and worn out
They did not provide enough towels or bedding sheets for a 9 days stay. Not even a towel to dry your face
There’s no one ever at the front desk which makes it very hard to ask for anything
No parking! But there’s G2 parking garage which is way cheaper than the public parking
All in all, you get what you pay for. It’s cheap and convenient for its location. You get to enjoy south beach and save yourself a few bucks. Just don’t get your hopes too high.

Too old and unclean. No body attend to you when you need it. The area has a lot of places near but i felt insecure
It was easy to access the room and there was someone to ask questions and get help .

Nice location.
The sink in the bathroom was always overflowing.
The door pad to the apt had old batteries making it a challenge to open.
The door pad to the building failed so I had my code changed.
The sink in the bathroom is clogged waiting a while after brushing and clean up.
Very nice quiet place

No air conditioner. HOT, MUGGY, AWEFUL! No refund.
We stayed 11 days to celebrate NYE. The room was HOT & often reached 89⁰F. The air conditioning didnt work. There was no lobby person. In 11 days we saw 1 person on day 3. He stated that someone was on their way to fix the air. 2 days later I called again and they said that it wouldnt be fixed. They locked my room and stated that my room was switched. I stood in the hallway for an hour at 11PM locked out. Ultimately the room was half the size on the 3rd floor, old stairs & no elevator. I elected to stay in my original room and was promised another room there or in another hotel. We attempted to sleep with the window open but the heat and humidity was unbearable. We woke up throughout each night to splash cold water. I was startled when I walked into the restroom & my daughter was sleeping on the floor because the tile was cool. On day 9 EVENING I received a call from Roami bc they had a room the same size as ours. We moved and all went well for TWO of our 11 day nightmare. I was beyond upset & was only then offered a $200 refund of the $2k paid. I then received a text that they were glad to make things right for me. I responded with a text detailing the horrible service & that things were NOT made right.
Overall: The room was clean. The space was nice. The location is amazing. The grounds need maintenance. They need a person at the lobby. We were locked out for 7 of 11 days & depended on people to open the front door. Would NEVER STAY THERE AGAIN!
