I’ve been processing for weeks now how horrible my 30th birthday was ruined because of the host suddenly cancelling my reservation forcing myself and my family who flew in from out of state to scramble and put up money to find somewhere else to stay. I had booked this house months in advance for my birthday. It clearly says in the listing “small events and birthday parties allowed. Max 20 people” I just wanted a house with a pool and a grill so family and friends could come enjoy. The listing also says sleeps 16 people but there were only myself, my boyfriend, and my 2 cousins sleeping here. Only 4 people were actually staying in the house.On the day of my birthday, we respected all the rules in the listing. The host started texting me from his personal cell saying the music was too loud and there were cars parking in front of neighbors houses. We turned the music off outside and talked to the neighbors. They were completely fine with us moving the 1 car parked in a grass area and moving them. This was absolutely no crazy party or anyone disrespecting rules or neighbors. Surprising out of no where the host canceled the reservation and said we need to leave for having the party. I’m sure the host will say something like we trashed the place or neighbors complained but we talked to all the neighbors and there was no time for us to clean when your kicked out immediately. No refund on the days we did not stay. Valuables were also left at the house. Full propane tank we bought.
