I debated writing this review since we didn’t actually stay, but after reading recent reviews with similar experiences, I wanted to share ours to help others. With few rentals in the area, and traveling with kids and a pet limiting options further, I chose this property for its convenient location near family. The photos looked great, but the experience didn’t match what was advertised.A day before arrival, I hadn’t heard from the host, which was unusual. I reached out the next morning and didn’t get a reply until midday, when I was told the previous guest’s late checkout would delay cleaning. Our check-in was scheduled for 4:30 p.m., but trying to be flexible, I said we could arrive by 7 p.m. At 7 p.m., I was told it’d be another 20–25 minutes, and the code didn’t arrive until 7:45 p.m. The host apologized and offered 50 off for the delay.Once inside, the property didn’t match the photos. Food was left in the fridge and freezer, only two bath towels for four guests, no hand soap, and half a roll of toilet paper with no extras to be found for our 3 night stay. The bedding looked dingy with stains, surfaces in the kitchen were sticky, and the unit smelled strongly of marijuana, with another scent sprayed clearly trying to mask it.Within an hour, we decided to leave. After no reply from the host, I contacted VRBO and they promptly canceled our stay and issued a full refund. The listing did not reflect the property, and communication throughout was poor.

Booked based on 10/10 reviews. My experience matched the recent 2/10 review.Communication: Little communication from host. After requesting check-in info the day before, had to get VRBO to intervene 16 hours later. Host wouldn't send code until after cleaning was done - code came at exactly 4:30 PM check-in time while host was rushing to finish cleaning.Condition Upon Arrival: - Strong marijuana smell in building hallway - Odd smell throughout unit - Sheets had visible hairs, appeared slept in - Stains on pillow cases - Brown slime/mold on shower curtain - Only 3 towels for 3 guests, 3 days - no hand towels or washcloths - Grimy window sills - Broken kitchen blinds - no privacyMissing Amenities: - Zero K-cups despite listing photos showing fully stocked station - Could not locate advertised washer/dryer - No WiFi info providedSafety Issues: - Parking lot sheet of ice, untreated - Building door lock never set - anyone can enterHost Response: Messaged host next morning. Took 4 hours to respond. Host admitted sheets "definitely should have been replaced" and would bring supplies "in a few hours." Host is over an hour away - didn't resolve until after 8 PM.We immediately vacated on day one and did not stay. The 10/10 reviews don't reflect reality. The recent 2/10 is accurate - that guest also got a refund for same issues.

Property in deplorable condition. Not clean, lightbulbs missing and to top it all off, a bug crawled across ceiling into light over dining room table. Owner (or manager?), Kris, quick to respond and even drove up from Chicago to try to address issues. We ended up checking into the Marriott. Very disappointed. We did receive full refund.

This location was perfect for getting to the workshop that we were attending. There is a nice ice cream shop close by that we did not discover until the last evening, but that was probably just as well. We enjoyed the restaurant suggestion that our host gave us. The beds were comfortable and the kitchen was adequate for our needs. The apartment was clean and comfortable and our host was friendly and responsive.

Tosa's cozy corner is in fact quite cozy! A little difficult to navigate to the parking, but other than that we had a great stay and the host was very kind and helpful. Also, the cafe down the street serves fantastic breakfast!
