I had a late arrival which I informed them of in advance. Getting into the hotel was unwelcoming with security. Had to use a phone, give them my name before they would unlock the door for me to enter. Made me feel it was an unsafe area. When I got to my room everything felt damp. I took off my shoes to walk to the bathroom and my feet were black with just that short walk.

Good location.

We arrived at dinner time. Staff's English was challenging. We asked about dinner options and got one, then were informed about other places that deliver. Our room was good, but lacked a fridge so we made many trips for ice. The elevator seemed in need of repair as none of the indicator lights worked. The room was missing a TV channel guide. Breakfast was OK, but 95% carbs. Desk staff was difficult to contact (we had to yell a couple times to get someone to the desk so we could check out) and some spoke very little English . Property was easy to find and parking was good . Easy trip to MSP from here.

The carpet on the floor of the room was soaking wet and the room smelled like mildew. There was only hot water in the shower. We told the person at the desk as soon as we arrived. He said they were full and could not move us to another room and that he would leave a note for the manager. When we returned the next night the mildew smell was overwhelming and the floor was still wet. The person at the desk told me the carpet was wet because it had been cleaned. He also said he could not move us to another room because they were full. I refused to stay in that room and ask for a refund. He said I would have to talk to the manager. I complained. He eventually found another room for us and it was ok.

This is not an angry rant just giving 1's because I am mad. It was hands down the WORST property I've ever found myself in for my 25+ years of business and personal travel. Had to use a dirty, old-school phone to get "buzzed in" front door. Room immediately knocked us over with stench, with an active "odorizer" plugged in and running in the room. The drawers were hanging open, stains on lamps and walls, dirty TP and what appeared to be earwax stuck to bathroom floor, a hole with visible mouse/rat chewing in bathroom ceiling. We checked in and asked for another room. When we were told there were no others we found another hotel in the area and left. Happily paid for a new room and didn't want to bother trying to talk to front desk about a refund, he was unsympathetic, had earbuds in ears and was hard to understand as well. Both my wife and I absolutely refused to stay in that room. Wyndham and Baymont should be EMBARRASED. It was like an hourly motel quality.
