The room was amazing. Only little thing, bathroom faucet was just trickling not a decent stream of water. Great breakfast! Great atmosphere in the hotel with it being in a nunnery.

We were charged for snack bar items, that we did not purchase. We neither purchased anything from the bar nor the snack bar. We made no extra purchases what so ever! There was a cart in the room with bottled water and coffee. We did not use any of these items either. At our check in we were told that we had to change our room type from the one we booked. No reason offered. The woman at the desk assured us it would be an upgrade at no extra charge. We agreed to it. So there should be no charge for this either. We asked to speak to the manager. He was not available. We asked them to review their video surveillance as there was a camera by the snack bar.The woman at the desk stated she would forward the issue to the owner for review. The charges on the credit card disappeared for a few days then reappeared unchanged. Nobody contacted us with any explanation. If this happened to us, i am certain it will happen to others. We are very upset over these fraudulent charges. If it happened to us, iI am sure it will happen to others.

Unique place with history. Fun play on the past of the place. Walking distance to most everything. Bed and bedding are comfy. The whole place is clean. Staff are friendly. Breakfast was good- but could use a decaf coffee option. Windows are old and leaky, but the blinds help keep out the cold. The heat is all or nothing- blasting high heat that dries you out or off. The elevator is loudly squeaky such that you can hear it in your room with any use. The light rail station goes right past, with a station 1 block away- convenient for use, but you hear it rattle past at all hours. The church next door also tolls every 15 minutes.

Staff was pleasant and the best part was the location to Palace theatre. Room was clean but beds were far from comfortable. Door had to be slammed to get deadbolt to lock. Then the highlight of the night was getting up every hour and half to turn the heat off or on. Why? Because the thermostat didn’t work and it only blew on high so even if set at 70 on low it would end up close to 90 and once you turn it off it then quickly cools down to 62. So either sweating or freezing cold. Not the best nights rest.

Stay was good. Breakfast is alright nothing special but it’s free and that’s good. There is no microwave in the room and there is no laundry on site. It’s great for a one or two night stay - definitely not good for an extended stay though. Overall it’s a nice hotel with awesome decor and history.

Stayed here as it looked like it had access to the Skywalk that we could take to the MN Wild game. Beware that with construction and that the skywalk area around Wells Fargo hub closes @ 9:00 pm. Front desk person had no knowledge of the skywalk so had to walk (run) three blocks in the frigid weather. Hotel had nice charm, stair access to the front door only. there is "flat" access on the side of the hotel. Breakfast was good and well stocked by staff.

I have never reviewed hotel but I feel obligated to let people know this place is horrible. Where do I even begin? To be fair the checkin process went well but downhill from there. I decided to grab a quick app at the bar so I ordered the flatbread. It turned out to be soggy pizza. I then went up to my room which was the most poorly light room I've ever stayed in. The carpet was flithy, there were cobwebs, there was mold in the bathroom and the paint was peeling of the walls. My room was right next to the light rail so I asked to change rooms which they gladly did. The next room was equally crappy. I went off to work and picked up my wife who was joining for the rest of the stay. When we got to the hotel there were 2 cars in the guest loading zone so I had to park down the street and help my wife maneuver through the ice and snow. When we got to the hotel I realized that one of the cars in the loading zone was there when I left the hotel 6 or 7 hours earlier. I was upset about having to walk a pretty good distance to drop my wife so I asked about the car parked in the loading zone. Turns out it was the manager's car. I totally blew a gasket and what made it worse is her telling me there was nothing wrong with taking up the space for the day. I said I was going to call the owner of the poroperty. She told me 'go ahead.' Are you F ing kidding me? Can't make this stuff up.
