Checking in to the hotel was a very slow process to start. Next, we get to our room and it was too warm for comfort so I turned the thermostat in the room to 68 degrees. We left our room for several hours to attend a show at the Fitzgerald, which is only a few feet away from the hotel which is why we stayed at Celeste. After the show we stopped for a nightcap at the Celeste's bar which turned out to be disappointing as well. My companion's whiskey sour was mostly ice and my Last flight from St Paul was skimpy and it tasted like NyQuil. We returned to our room only to find it scorching hot because the heater/AC unit was defective. No one around at check in so thankfully we were able to open the windows to get some relief from the heat. That only meant having to listen to the yelling and screaming in the street all night. Also, there must be little insulation in the building as you can hear your upstairs neighbors walking above you. As for romantic, seriously not! Photos of nuns everywhere didn't add to the ambiance. What we discovered next is that they don't clean well either. Breakfast was another disappointment. Unseasoned potato and eggs were the only hot offerings with other options of your standard cereal and yogurt choices. No, I wouldn't recommend staying here unless being next to the Fitzgerald is a necessity.
