Property looks old and we had washroom issues flush was not working, staff tried to fixed next day but it didn’t work it was on/off. I travelled with family and it was so much inconvenience. I booked 3 days but originally but I cancelled last night and the management refused to refund but at the end they returned half of the amount for 3rd night and I lost the money as well.

There was noise at night as well as works during the day starting at 7 am. No air conditioning and a ventilator that does not make any sense. It was either be hot or hear noise… sleept not good at the end. In addition I think for the price the rooms were very basic as well as the breakfast

When we arrived, around 18:00 for checking in, we were told that our room was ready. However it was not. When we entered inside it was really dirty and messy. We were proposed another room but less convenient. We had to insist to get the room that we booked cleaned. Finally around 19:00 we were able to get it. In addition, when we get our room cleaned the second day, they thrown away our dental floss. The personnel at the entrance did their best to accommodate us, but there an issue with the cleaning process. You can’t give the key to a customer if the room is not ready.

Ein schönes Hotel hatte diesmal sogar ein Zimmerupgrade. Leider war ich nur eine Nacht dort und war zu spät zum Essen, ich weiß aber von früheren besuchen das es eine hervorragende Küche gibt. Ist allerdings sehr teuer wie fast alles in der Schweiz. Übernachte aber immer gern im Aarehof.

Great Stay at Aarehof

Hotel Aarehof is always a convenient place to stay to get to the train and take a flight from Zurich. The rooms are nice and staff is very friendly.

Das Haus ist deutlich in die Jahre gekommen (Zimmer, Bad,...). Erst nach nochmaligem Gang zur Rezeption gab es dann ein Zimmer wie gebucht und bezahlt. Insgesamt war für mich das Preis-/Leistungsverhältnis nicht stimmig.

Almost nailed a business stay but not quite

With appointments in Basel, Bern and Zurich over two days this hotel was ideally placed in the middle. Room was large - we were two and each had big beds . Coffee machine. Good lighting and a desk. Curiously no clock or phone so no way of getting an alarm call. Decent breakfast which starts at 0630 on weekdays which is good (most people there clearly on business and took advantage) BUT bizarrely they do not switch the hot water on in time to go down at this time (it is boiling during day). Reception not manned all the time either. These two things a pity as otherwise they would have nailed the stay for us as there was plenty free parking and the Wifi worked. Didn't use the restaurant as it appeared expensive but options nearby.
