A stone's throw from the banks of the Saône, in the heart of the Haut Mâconnais countryside, a peaceful, preserved setting of gentle mountains with bucolic rolling landscapes combining vineyard hillsides (first vines only 1.5 km away), fields, meadows & beautiful forests, nestled at the foot of the Burgy mountain (a wild massif offering an exceptional panoramic viewpoint as far as Mont-Blanc on a clear day!). Wine village with the "Viré Clessé" appellation, Montbellet has a rich heritage (12th & 11th century Romanesque church and chapel, several castles, notably medieval, many mills, wash houses, remains of a 13th century commandery, etc.).
