Authentic miner's house from the beginning of the 20th century completely restored & revisited as a comfortable holiday resort, nestled in a quiet area on the edge of a small alley in the hollow of a former working-class district steeped in history - once linked to the important coal mining activity of this old mining town - now a peaceful residential area adjoining the shopping center and all shops & services. Very close to the many lakes that surround the town, including the large Plessis pond, a literal green lung nestled on the edge of a vast forest. Rich in a rare industrial heritage that it has been able to enhance (perfectly preserved industrial remains to discover on site and mining museum allowing you to visit original authentic galleries!), Montceaux has since completely converted to recreational sports activities , nature & culture by transforming in particular the quarries of its former mining parks into lakes and landscaped parks (with hiking trails, fishing, multiple relaxation activities & children's play area) and now offers 280 hectares of green spaces , true havens of peace and rest. You will therefore enjoy many activities close to the magnificent unspoiled surrounding countryside, gently rolling mountains alternating vast groves, beautiful wild forests, meadows, rivers and large lakes-ponds full of fish, extending the very tip of the Morvan massif & its Natural Park .
