We enjoyed a night stay here. Host graciously let us change room to avoid stairs, and let us check out late to use space for a business call. Thank You! Property was renovated a few years ago (?) but our room condition was still excellent; all was clean, furniture, bed, bathroom in tip-top shape. Property has wooden steps to top floor, it's fine, but you will hear ppl going up and down. great location, short walk into the downtown Ocean Ave shopping/restaurant district. Short drive to Pt. Lobos Park. Breakfast offerings kind of standard hot egg/sausage/pancake,and variety of fruit, yogurt, cold. Note that Breakfast area is cramped, but still was fine for us and other guests.

The room was very small and very basic. But beware, there is no AC and the room became very warm with no air ventilation. Because of the location it is very overpriced for what you get. We would not stay here again.

Great value for the area

Had a pleasant 1 night stay here in January. We were able to park the car easily. The room was fine - very basic but cute from the outside. We needed to wear earplugs at night as it was very loud, especially when other rooms were using their showers. The room was spacious and clean. The location was good for the price. It’s on the edge of the walkable shopping / tourist district. We walked to the sea and back easily. We visited mid-week in January and found it a bit difficult to get a late dinner in the area. Maybe book somewhere for dinner. When checking out the hotel really went above and beyond for us. Instead of holding our luggage for a couple of hours, they let us keep the room for a few extra hours. They knew we had a long drive and said we could store our luggage and also freshen up before the drive. This was exceptionally helpful and kind. Thank you!

Extremely convenient location to the downtown area. The hotel room was clean, welcoming and pretty. The complimentary breakfast had a good selection of options, coffee machine, hot and cold foods. Check in and check out were very easy, hassle-free.

Pros: Location is right next to shops and restaurants. Room decor and furniture are simple but updated. Bed was comfy Cons: Registration area is small and outdated. Super noisy at night and the walls are thin. Room had no air conditioner and the old heater didn't seem to work. It was freezing in the morning. The room is tiny! Bathroom sink was a bit dirty and the shower curtains were torn. Outdoors is outdated, dingy. Looks better at night.

We have stayed here twice, and the first time was perfect!! Lovely courtyard view out the dutch door, and a really nice updated room. Second (most recent) time, we got put in a hallway corner room next to the storage closet, with only a view of the neighboring hotel’s backside, which wasn’t great. No view of the courtyard either, and the room did not have the nice built in closets or as new updates as the first room we had. The room was overall clean and comfortable however there were quite a few scuffs and chips in the bathroom infrastructure, which looked quite worn and less updated than the first room we stayed in. The parking situation also gets quite packed and if you don’t snag a spot early, there isn’t much you can do. Other than that, this is a quiet and convenient location for walking around carmel and seeing all there is to offer. Very close to green space, shops and restaurants at carmel plaza, and a grocery store. Also has a good basic continental breakfast. A great value for the price all-around so long as you don’t get put in one of the hallway rooms.

Great location

Loved the location. Clean, easy access, quiet, beds were comfortable. Breakfast had a good selection, however there is not much room to sit by the reception, it’s a tiny area; therefore most guests grabbed their food and left. Staff was friendly and provided us with a map of the area. Bruno’s market it’s right behind it so it was easy to grab a sandwich, water and snacks, totally recommend it. Parking was the only downside, they only have a handful of parking spots and there are 2hr parking around the area.

I booked this hotel after seeing good reviews of it. It is walkable to downtown Carmel which was a plus, however I requested a room second floor based on reviews saying there was a lot of noise on the first floor. I arrived and heard the front desk give a woman in front of me a 2nd floor room then tell me there weren’t any available. When I stepped out for a minute the front desk told my fiance they were “completely sold out” for the night other than our first story room, but when I came back in he said he had one on the second floor for 30$ more a night because it is a kind bed. I said ok that is fine and had him transfer me to that room. We got to the room and it was a double bed. At this point we were frustrated but took it for what it is. Terrible service here, not soundproof at all even on the second floor I would not stay here again. The front desk lying was ridiculous to me.

The hotel manager was very nice and friendly. Nice complementary breakfast. However, the room was not cleaned daily, had to request to be cleaned, including emptying the trash cans. Parking was a problem too.
