The Day Inn Monterey Downtown is our favorite area hotel on a budget. The rooms are clean and spacious, parking is plentiful (if a bit tight) and the location is perfect - walking distance from Alvarado St and the wharf.

I loved staying at this property. We had a spacious 2 bed queen with the Jacuzzi. It was a quiet spot with many walkable place options nearby. The only concern I had was there being very limited parking. Overall, I would stay again.

Check in needs to be improved. I arrived tired after 12h on the road. Duty manager was on the line when I arrived and after waiting for him to complete his call, he disappeared immediately and did not return. It was not till I rang the bell before I was tended to.
