What a great place to spend five days in Monteverde. The vibe at Cabanas La Pradera was wonderful. As other posters have stated, the family that operate this place are a big reason for this. The property is good for walking and birding, the cabins are comfortable and secluded, the pool area is a good place to hang out, and the coffee is REALLY good at the breakfast room. We recommend Cabanas La Pradera strongly.

This place is a great option for someone who wants to stay within minutes of the main downtown Monteverde - lots of room to move around, private/gated, with a pool and lots of small trails plus a restaurant within property. Clean well-stocked rooms with kitchen. The host Melissa was great and super helpful. She even helped us book some local attractions such as night hike, and zip lining, and book dinners at restaurants. Highly recommended.

Nice wooded grounds with individual cabins. Number one was large, clean with a bedroom and kitchen/living area. Porch with a couple chairs. Pool area, though cool water. Trails around property to walk. Breakfast offered at least a couple options with great pancakes. Not far from town, and a convenience/grocery store across street.

Cabanas la Pradera was a wonderful experience. The cabins are set out over 14 acres I believe. Within the property there are easy walking trails. The birding within the property is excellent but the cabanas are close to Curri Cancha, Monteverde and so many other locations good for birding, butterflies and restaurants! The cabins themselves are basic but very comfortable. Melissa and her family make you feel very welcome and are so helpful. I would love to go back.

There were hiking trails throughout the estate - coffee trees, bananas and sugar cane. Signs to explain the diversity and potential wildlife (we saw many varieties of birds).

Large fridge, microwave, induction cooktop, coffee maker(no coffee)/kettle and all the cookware/dishes needed to eat in. Paper towel, dish soap and sponge/cloths provided. Locked gated entrance with access code at night. Quick drive to town and attractions. Great spot for a couple of nights or an extended stay.

Great mountain getaway

We enjoyed our stay at Cabañas La Pradera. The family that owns it was great and helped us find tours in the area that we'd like. The scenery is amazing and they have some trails of site.

We enjoyed our short stay at this property. The nature hike was educational - I think we even saw a Quetzal. Kitchen was well equipped but we didn’t really get a chance to use it. We were able to sit out on our quiet deck to watch the stars and the birds in the morning. Staff were very kind. quiet

Cabanas La Pradera was terrific in every way. Clean, comfortable. Well equipped kitchen. Large windows (which were unbelievable clean!!) allowed for great views to the surroundings. Melissa was super helpful with helping us organize tours. This place is a bit out of town so guests likely need a car to get around.

Get away in nature in your own space

Our stay at this cottage in Monteverde was incredibly relaxing. It had everything we needed, including a nice kitchen, and offered a quiet, comfortable retreat. We especially loved the natural surroundings, with a beautiful 2km network of nature paths right on the property—perfect for peaceful walks. The owner/manager was friendly and very helpful, adding to the overall wonderful experience. The only downside was that the Wi-Fi wasn’t very reliable, but everything else more than made up for it. Highly recommend for anyone looking to unwind in nature!
