Located in the heart of the Lys Valley between Cholet, Angers and Saumur, the small gîte de la Gaucherie aux Dames is located in the commune of Montilliers in Maine et Loire.

Ideal for a stay as a couple or as a family with children, this small independent single-storey house is located in a complex comprising the owners' house and 2 other gîtes. The latter will be delighted to share with you the history of this place, a former castle that has become a farm, as well as their commitment to the social and solidarity economy.

The gîte consists of a living room with a dining area, a fully equipped kitchen (gas hob, microwave, oven, etc.), a bathroom with shower and toilet, a bedroom with a 140x190cm double bed and a lounge with a sofa and television that also serves as a sleeping area with its two 90x190cm single beds.

In the summer, you can enjoy the outdoor space with your garden furniture and walk around the property, where there are also guest rooms and another gîte, to admire the view of the Lys valley (a small river flowing into the Layon and then into the Loire) and discover the sheep and horses in the surrounding meadows. The ruins and moats (not secured) of the old castle are also part of the landscape as well as a hiking trail.

Possibility to buy local products from the permaculture of the property in the summer (once a week). The nearest shops are located in the town of Vihiers 6 km away.
