Nice stay in Montpellier

We had a lovely stay at this hotel. It is directly opposite St Roche station which was very convenient. It is also a short walk into the main areas of Montpellier. A perfect walking location. There are tram stops just around the corner. The hotel was lovely, clean and comfortable with lovely bathrooms. Staff were helpful and friendly.

This is my go to hotel. The problem was a plumbing one. I only stayed for one night and in the morning the bathroom was not usable at all due to a sewage backup ... Staff were nice, but did not even offer another room to use to take a shower or use the facilities.

The staff were professional and helpful. Breakfast €12 was varied and good. Room itself was very clean and modern, but carpeting in hotel seemed old and lent a grim atmosphere. Each morning in one area of the lobby where guests ate breakfast (luckily a more remote area), there was a distinct sewage smell, like the bldg plumbing couldn’t handle so much humanity. It was quite off-putting. The fumes seemed to be gone later in the day only to be back the next morning. My room looked out at the train station (whose close proximity is why I chose the hotel) so I didn’t expect great atmosphere, but what I didn’t expect was the continuous clanging bell of the trams that passed by my corner of the hotel all day. Luckily they weren’t a problem with ear plugs between 10pm and about 8am.
