Jump onto the trail for hiking or biking winding around scenic Lake James for 30+ miles of beauty or walk 1 mile to the county beach for some splashing and sun bathing. Enjoy the evenings on the patio or around the fire pit, BBQ & picnic table. Lake James is one of the cleanest and most beautiful lakes in NC and perfect temperature all summer long. We are 5 mins away from Mimosa landing for boat launch. 15 min from adorable downtown Morganton with many great restaurants and breweries to enjoy. 40 min from historic scenic Blue Ridge parkway and Linville Gorge with cute mountain towns, waterfall hikes, gem mining and much more to discover. With few crowds and so much to do you will fall in love and want to make this a yearly escape. Also available same property, 2+ person Yurt with water access.

We loved staying in this cottage. We found everything weneeded in the kitchen. It was perfect for our dog as a wonderful trail to James Lake is right next to the property. We took lots of walks. The beds are very comfortable.The clean up easy, we had to leave early in the morning.We will happily return when we can.

It was a wonderful property with a cool site and nice amenities. Our family member was ill and we spent all our time with she and her family, so basically only slept there, but its proximity to her home made it an easy drive. Everything was clean, worked and was easy to maintain. Bravo to the host!!

Great cottage!

Really enjoyed our stay at the “woodsy cottage.” It was quiet and peaceful. We had all that we needed for a comfortable stay. The bed was comfy, the location was a short drive to Lake James access. I would stay here again!

Quiet safe serene $ very reasonable. You have WiFi tv woods lake. They’ve provided board games & even a cornhole board. Clean well stocked from bbq grill to pots and pans. Local establishments have excellent food & pickle ball courts. Also there’s a cash only market you can get fresh veggies cheese butter etc. You’re close enough to Morganton and close enough for hiking adventures like Grandfather Mtn…it’s very centrally located to enjoy some of the prettiest site NC has to offer.

Perfect for us

We stayed here to celebrate Christmas Eve and Day with my parents. The check in time was perfect as neither of us prefer to drive in the dark. The cabin was decorated for Christmas The beds were incredibly comfortable. We brought wood but the fire pit had plenty of wood. The hosts were readily available. 10/10 would stay again if available. r dark.
