One of our favorite stays as we traveled around Iceland. Nice modern rooms, in a cool location, and the wildlife around the property was unbeatable (the only artic foxes we saw on our trip)

This property is very remote but a great option to break up a long drive between Myvatn and the east coast towns. Lots of different buildings for overnighters with a restaurant on site. Beautiful scenery and so peaceful.

It was a cute and cozy room. The back door led to an open field with cute little lambs grazing outside. The staff was friendly. The back door lock was broken and that was the only thing we had come up but overall a great stay! Their breakfast was also delicious!

Beautiful experience! We booked the hostel room but we've been upgraded at the same price to an hotel room and it was awesome. Beautiful interior and super comfortable need and bathroom. The landscape that surrounds the property is breathtaking because is placed on a beautiful highland. Every building has grass on the top and made it looks like a fairytale. Very recommended place.

Fjalladyrd-Modrudalur

Talk about eco-friendly, this hotel generates its own electricity from a creek. Ever stay in a sod hotel? U never know the storm outside has 50 mph winds! It was a wonderful stay, very secluded and accomodating. Restaurant was not open in winter, so bring food. Good place to search for the northern lights.
