The space
RELAX AND BASK IN THE SOLITUDE of Zion National Park…
We are located on the east border of Zion. Venture into the back-country of Zion park right from the cabin's backyard or you’re just 18 minutes from the east gate entrance and 55 minutes from the south gate by car Zion National Park's Observation Point and/or Cable Mountain trail heads are just minutes away. Our Zion Cabin property is part of an award winning 4,000 acre Zion Ponderosa Ranch resort loaded with amenities.
For more detail check out TakeOnAdventure with the standard suffix.
The East Rim Trailhead is 5 minutes walking distance away from the property and the East Rim Trail is 10 miles in total length. Depending on which trail you take, these hikes can be mild to strenuous with durations of 1/2 hour to 6 hours plus. East Rim Trail links with Weeping Rock, Cable Mountain, Deertrap Mountain, Echo Canyon, Hidden Canyon and Observation Point. Orderville Canyon and Zion Narrows trailheads are 20 and 40 minutes away. Elevation change down into the canyon is roughly 2,150 feet. We're conveniently located to walk out into Zion rather than hike up from the bottom. Guests have been known to walk down into the Zion Canyon floor area (weeping rock, lower Zion Narrows, etc.) then catch a free park shuttle before taking pre-arranged transportation back to the cabin.

The mountains plateau we are on is over 6,500 feet vs 4,000 feet on the park floor, which means while Springdale is 98 F/36 C degrees, you are at 85 F/29 C degrees at the cabin (9-13 degree difference). It can be cool in the evening and during the summer warm to hot usually during the daytime hours. It's always refreshing to step inside the air conditioned cabin after a day hiking. Late summer/early fall (July to October) has afternoon showers that last an hour or so.

BEWARE OF THIS PROPERTY! I have been a member of Expedia for years and booked this property through VRBO. This location is up in the mountains and the cabin itself is nice. We bought over 200 worth of groceries and headed to the cabin. The first day the electricity and water was in and out. When we woke up in the morning you cannot see anything because it is pitch dark. We had no electricity or running water. We also could not get the navigation to make our way down the mountain because the wifi was out. After going hiking for the day we came back to the cabin and there was still no electricity or running water. Our cell phones were also dead because we could not charge them. We ended up having to leave because we did not want to sit in a cabin with no electricity or water on our vacation. We also could not cook any of the food we bought and some went bad because the fridge was out. We tried to contact both owners. We left a message for Jim and Nicks voicemail box was full. We than tried to get a refund through VRBO and they contacted Jim 5 times with no response. We understand that it is a rustic location and these things happen but it seemed like this must happen often. We do not want to see someone else pay for a cabin to get there and have no power or water. The owners do not care and will not respond. As a result we went to another location and had to pay for that too. At least we could shower and have electricity.
