We loved this house - the location, the house. Everything was so authentic, like the older thatched homes you can see at museums. Maxine was a wonderful hostess, and we would absolutely go back!

Home Away From Home

In coming to Ireland, we look for a rental that allows us to feel like we are permanent residents--although only for a short period. This cottage fit the bill. We enjoyed the convenience of location and the amenities within. Our host and her local representatives were accessible at all times and answered our every need. It was a truly relaxing three weeks.

Perfect! Perfect! Perfect!

What a great cottage! My husband has wanted for years to rent a cottage in County Donegal for a month and just hang out in the homeland of his ancestors. We were so lucky to find this cottage! It was exactly what we had hoped for and more! It is exactly as described. The caretaker, Caroline, lives right across the street and was always very helpful including meeting us at the airport and letting us follow her "home" and then giving us some food to get us through breakfast the next morning. And Maxine, the owner was very responsive whenever I had a question before our arrival and while there! She is great! The location was fabulous for touring County Donegal. You can easily do day trips anywhere in the county and boy did we do that!! Only took a couple of days off. A huge bonus, besides being only 4 minutes from the airport, was the proximity to two fabulous beaches. They are a great place to go for a walk, especially the beautiful Carrickfin Blue Beach which is right next to the airport. I took full advantage of the beach for walks on any day where we did not get out and about! If you like to get in the ocean and swim this is a great beach for that as well. Also, don't miss the Boat Strand also by the airport. Ask Caroline and she will tell you how to get there! We are already talking about returning next year so that should tell you all you need to know about how great this cottage is! You won't be disappointed!

Just a little gem

What a location, absolutely stunning. The cottage was exactly as I had imagined & it came with everything you need for a stay away from home (even a starter pack for the beautiful log burner). The owner gave very good instructions for both arrival & use of facilities. It is comfortable for 2-4 people & I would have no problem recommending it to others. would love to return for more exploring of the area:)

An Enchanting Irish Cottage

My daughter (13) and I had a wonderful week in this enchanting cottage in Mullaghduff. The cottage was very well presented with luxurious, carpeted bedrooms and en suite in each. It had everything we needed. We enjoyed trips to the 2 local beaches, we kayaked over to Inishfree Island with Carrickfinn Watersports where we swam in its magical “infinity” rock pool and we took a trip on a RIB from Burtonport around Arranmore Island. The cliffs and caves on the far side of Arranmore are breathtaking. We were very sad to leave this little taste of heaven.

Beautiful little cottage

I stayed at the cottage during the pandemic as a base while working in Donegal as an essential worker. I usually stay in Hotels but didn’t feel comfortable using shared/public spaces. I was able to bring my own groceries to minimise any unnecessary contact. The cottage on arrival was not only spotlessly clean but Maxine had the fire lit for me. It was so comfortable, well appointed/equipped and such a pleasure to stay... I nearly didn’t want to leave. I will certainly be back on both a work capacity and I very much look forward to using it for leisure with my family when the world is right again. Thank you.

Cosy, traditional cottage

We had a wholly enjoyable week in this well appointed, comfortable and delightful thatched cottage. It proved to be a cosy retreat between storms Dennis and Jorge. Ideal location for exploring the sights and sounds of Donegal’s coasts and National Park. The kitchen is really well equipped; restful bedrooms with comfortable beds with pristine linen The owner has thought of everything. She was very friendly and welcoming without being intrusive and we knew she was available by phone should we have required anything. Definitely a place we will return to in the future.

The cottage is terrific. Small but spacious. Very comfortable. Very tight with regard to drafts and such. Well built. Roomy with it's two bedrooms and 2 1/2 baths. The wood stove was welcome, and the radiator heat, two hours at a time, really works well. You don't have to leave the heat on all day, but when you do turn it on, the cottage heats up right away. Plenty of hot water. Good kitchen. Beautiful magical land. I can't say enough about this wonder place. Maxine and Caroline were accessible, even when we locked ourselves out.

Brilliant Bungalow

A gorgeous and cosy bolt hole for exploring the Donegal coastline. Maxine and Caroline went out of their way to ensure we were settled in and had everything we needed for our trip. The cottage was all set up for our late check in- there was even a fire awaiting us! The kitchen has everything you need and the two en-suites were excellent for our party of four. We enjoyed exploring the local beaches as well as hiking several of the Derryveagh mountains. What a perfect spot for a Wild Atlantic Way holiday!
