Spacious apartment

Our stay at this spacious 2 bedroom, 2 bath apartment was nice. Host was punctual and met us to check us in. Main drawback was that it's above a hookah lounge so not the ideal environment for my two kids to see or stay near.

Convenient location with the necessities

The apartment is very efficient. It has the basics. We were able to walk to most all sites in Munich and the train station and U-Bahn are very near. The owner was very responsive and helpful. The a/c worked very well. The only issue was in the small bedroom the noise from the hookah lounge at night could sometimes be loud, so we used ear plugs and it worked out fine.

The unit we rented was exactly as described in the VRBO listing. However, listings (especially photos) can be deceiving. The unit truly was very close (5 minute walk) to the Altstadt and most other sites we wanted to see. The unit is suitable for the most basic of travelers with minimal expectations. There are two very small bathrooms with showers but only one of the showers was in working order during our stay. Also, there was no water available at the kitchen sink. The unit had been cleaned but we still found hair balls in the shower and behind doors and under furniture. There is a secure parking area at an additional cost, not described in the property details, where we were able to park our rental car but getting the car out proved extremely difficult. It required making contact with the host who had to come and physically unlock the gate with a key (no code). In one case it took over an hour for him to respond. The host does not answer the phone number listed in the property details. He did confirm that that was the correct phone number during a face to face conversation. I made 13 separate attempts and he never answered the phone once. The host only responded through email. I suspect this is because of a language barrier. The host is from Uzbekistan. And finally, this unit is on the second floor DIRECTLY above a hookah lounge. The sounds and smells permeated the walls well after 2 AM. This may be good for adult travelers but families will want to avoid this.
