Full VRBO Description
Wake up to the sound of the channel. Watch the boats drift by while your coffee brews. Step outside to a front patio where Muskegon Lake stretches out before you — and realize this is exactly what a vacation is supposed to feel like.
Welcome to the Surf Shack on the Muskegon Channel. One of the only homes in the area with true waterfront access, this 2-bedroom, 2-bath home sleeps up to 8 and puts you front and center on one of Muskegon's most beautiful and unique stretches of water — all just a 10-minute walk to Pere Marquette Beach, the pier, and the lighthouse.
Life here naturally centers around the water. Mornings start slow with coffee on the front patio as boats and freighters drift past. Afternoons are spent at the beach or simply watching the channel from your own chair. Evenings wind down around the fire pit as the sky turns gold over the water. In every season, this is a place that slows you down in the best possible way.
Out back, the fenced yard is set up for easy, memorable time together — outdoor bar, grill, fire pit, and string lights overhead. Summer cookout or crisp fall night, this is where the best conversations happen.
Inside, the open layout brings everyone together. The primary suite features two queen beds and a private full bath — perfect for families or groups. The second bedroom offers two cozy twin beds with a full bath nearby, and a queen sleeper sofa in the living room means everyone has a comfortable place to land.
We've thought of everything so you don't have to. Bikes, beach chairs, a wagon, umbrella, beach toys, and baby gear are all here and ready. And because pets are family too, up to two dogs are welcome with no pet fee — and the fully fenced yard gives them the run of the place.
Whether you're here for a sun-soaked summer week, a peaceful fall getaway, a quiet winter escape, or a spring weekend by the water — Always Channel is where Muskegon feels like home. All year long.
— A Little Backstory —
For nearly 18 years, we drove past this little house on the channel and dreamed about what it could be. It started as a small cinder block place — nothing fancy — but every time we passed it we'd say the same thing: "If we had that house, we would do this... or that." We never saw anyone there. It was always just waiting.
Then one day, we got our chance. We scrambled, we moved fast, and after 18 years of dreaming — it became ours. It was just a shell inside. Nothing finished. And that's when Gino said: "Let's create the best surf shack in Muskegon."
So welcome. This is the dream that took 18 years to get here. We hope it feels that way when you arrive.
