Inside, Neap is set up for easy group stays, with generous shared spaces and plenty of room to settle in. The main living areas are bright and comfortable, with large windows looking out to the surrounding coastline and three log burners adding extra warmth on cooler days.

The house has five bedrooms and five bathrooms, making it a practical choice for families, friends, or small retreat groups. Two of the king bedrooms can be arranged as twins on request, giving you flexibility depending on your group’s needs.

The kitchen-diner is well equipped for cooking and eating together, with a dishwasher, washer/dryer, full-size fridge/freezer, and the essentials needed for longer stays. Starlink WiFi is available throughout the house, whether you’re planning a working stay or simply want to stay connected.

Outside, there’s a private garden and ample parking, with the shoreline and nearby trout lochs just a short walk away. Although the setting feels quiet and tucked away, Lerwick and Brae are both around 20 minutes away by car, and the nearest local shop is about 5 minutes away.

Tucked away in the quiet coastal hamlet of Brettabister, Nesting, this beautiful area offers peace, space, and classic Shetland scenery — sweeping sea views, open skies, and abundant wildlife. It’s an ideal base for exploring the islands while enjoying a true sense of escape. The best way to explore local nature spots is on foot, with many beaches and walks accessible from the door. The South Nesting Shop is just a 5-minute drive away for local essentials, with Lerwick and Brae both within an easy drive for restaurants, shops, and ferry connections.

Strip any used beds
Remove personal items and remove leftover food and drinks

We don’t want check-out to be a burden. Please make sure that all waste is bagged up, doors and windows are locked and the keys have been returned to the lock safe.
If you have time to strip the beds and put the dishwasher on before you leave that would be hugely helpful but don’t worry if not.

Booking the property was very easy and the VRBO posting accurately reflected our experience there. This property is beautiful and peaceful...even the drive to the location is very scenic. The location is amazing, on the water the views are great. The property was immaculate, had everything we needed for our family of 10 adults. The property is very nicely decorated. The kitchen is well stocked with everything you need. The host promptly responded to any questions. What was amazing that I have not seen from other VRBO rentals was the comprehensive online guest guide that not only told you all the things to see in the area but also how to work the kitchen appliances...everything you need to know about the property was documented in the online guest guide. If you are planning a visit to the Shetlands, I would highly recommending staying here. We were very fortunate during our stay as we did not experience any rain until our last day...it was windy but no rain.
