We were grateful for an upgrade to a very large room. However, there were loud popping noises at about 4:00 am. We thought they were gunshots coming from the room next to us. The lady at the desk said they were probably kids with firecrackers. That didn’t seem likely. There was a woman in the lobby that had a torch lighter that she was flicking on and off, and giggling. The back door stayed ajar. Even though the hotel room was huge and clean, we will not stay at Studio 6 in Nocodoches again. We did not feel safe.

Parking was satisfactory but every entrance door on Level 1 from the outside had a rock jammed into the door jamb so that the doors were accessible by anyone from the street. NOT ACCEPTABLE when there are card scanners in place that should keep these entry doors secured. The bathtub caulking and door frames had black mold and there was a stained / moldy ceiling tile over the shower. There was an access panel behind the toilet that was obviously just cut into the sheetrock with a saw and was only held 'closed' by the plastic waste can in the restroom. The toilet refill / overflow mechanism ran LOUDLY every 15 or so minutes all night long, so that it was impossible to sleep for any length of time.
