Mixed emotions. Overall our stay was good. The pool was great and the inflatables and the addition of the slides was very popular with our kids. Stand out were the many options for dining giving us plenty of variety while we were there. Housekeeping was also very thorough and everything felt very clean. Kids Club was great and the in-house spa was incredible.
Most of the staff were amazing and personable however we did have some issues including with a particularly rude staff member in the cafe which soured our experience unfortunately. There was also a mix-up at one of the restaurants, forcing us to squeeze 4 people onto a table for 2. And on another day, housekeeping did not service our room until after 4:30pm. While they did take the time to listen to our complaints, management were very slow to act and didn't provide any consolation until we escalated the issue and demanded a course of action.
This was our third time in Fiji but our first time at the Sofitel. Our two previous stays at the Sheraton were without any issues or complaints. The Sheraton seem to be a little more onto it and their resort is just a touch more opulent with more retail shops and facilities.
Not sure if we'd stay here again. Will probably go back to the Sheraton (or try the new Sofitel that's being built next door...)
