There was a shuttle expecting us outside Yudanaka station, even though it's just a 6min walk to the hotel, but much appreciated when you're carrying bags. The place is beautiful and the private onsen: AMAZING (indoor and outdoor). Breakfast was a nice varied Buffet and loved the provided yukatas. Would definitely go back!

Hotel housei was my favorite stay in Japan, even after spending triple as much money for some other hotels. The staff is simply amazing, they went above and beyond for accommodation. Kei at the front desk was very helpful in showing me around the hotel & also recommended a restaurant that was one of my favorite I’ve been to. The gentlemen at the front desk even set up a specific shuttle for me to the snow monkey park because I was going to leave before their set time. They took me alone to the park in the morning, and even offered to pick me up and shuttle me back after I had checked out to the train station! Seriously an amazing establishment, I could not recommend them more.

Great central location in Yamanouchi

This is a great family friendly hotel. We booked a room with a private onsen which was absolutely worth the extra cost. The hotel has a shuttle which will take you to/from the Yudanaka station and the snow monkey park. This was a great place to stay.

Amazing stay

Amazing stay. The gentleman at the front desk who spoke great English was lovely, he helped us with everything and was also attentive during our kaiseki dinner, helping explain everything. We had a tatami room, it was nice, the bathroom a little dated, but the onsen was fabulous. The outdoor onsen was beautiful. Loved our stay here and can recommend it to anyone.

Really fantastic stay. Both for the experience, and easy location to the monkey park (which the staff provided a free shuttle to and from). Decided to go for half board - breakfast/dinner - and the food was SO good, especially the second night’s dinner. Staff were all wonderful and attentive and the Onsen (indoor and outdoor) was the perfect way to end the day. 10/10 recommend and will stay here again if I’m back in the area.
