Traveled to North Carolina from Maryland for an overnight stay. Motel rated as "Very Good". Paid for $115 Economy Room. Unfortunately, motel is a dump! It's an old motel. Room was dated, rundown, A/C didn't work, & had weird smell too. Had to walk up woobly wooden stairs to get to the room on the 2nd floor. The bathroom didn't even have a mirror! The front desk clerk spoke limited English. I asked for a room change & the clerk just shrugged. Ended up driving back to Maryland last night in a heavy rainstorm - 5 hour drive. Requesting refund from Expedia. What an awful experience. Definitely would not recommend this motel.

A most unpleasant stay

We arrived and were greeted with no one in the front office. I had to check in on a kiosk with someone on a screen. When that didn’t work an actual live person finally came and helped. Once we got our room keys and went in we found a very, very dirty room with extremely small, uncomfortable beds. The bathroom was so dirty we had to go out to buy Clorox wipes and clean it ourselves. That night we pulled back the blanket on the bed to find the sheet dirty and hair on the fitted sheet. There were pen marks in several places and it appeared the housecleaning simply flipped the used fitted sheet over as it was on inside out. The room was non smoking, but other guests in rooms right next to ours were smoking a lot, which prevented us from enjoying the disgusting seats on the public walkway outside our room. This hotel was more expensive than staying in a nice Hampton Inn that gives offers a free breakfast. The only thing this hotel offered for free was ice.

When I first pulled up to this hotel I thought uh-oh, I made a mistake. But once you get inside, all of the rooms are redone and you cannot beat the view! It was a very affordable price for an oceanfront view with a great beach and great restaurants and activities close by!

I really appreciated the early check in. The staff is very friendly and the rooms are clean. You can walk right out the back door to the ocean. Every room is ocean view. It is conveniently located to several various food and ice cream places. The only thing that I found odd was there was no handsoap provided in the bathroom. Other than that, it was a pleasant stay and I will stay there again.

Room 9 view and room 5 review

So it’s an older place. The stove needed updating (room 5 had a 1970 something stove that the burners barely worked on unless on high, which then set the smoke detector off. Also the oven would never heat up to use!) The beds are only full sized double beds and aren’t that comfortable. The rooms were very clean though. Room 9 was very nice but it was not an efficiency. It had a nice balcony and the best ocean view for the second floor. The hotel is smoke free but my neighbors smoked a bunch of weed and it stunk up our rooms. The indoor pool is small and is kept locked with key card. It is heated and the hot tub is large and works well.

This place was awesome had everything you need for a beach trip the only down side was the fact that the pools was closed for maintenance but honestly i came for the ocean not a pool... Also in grate location shops restaurants and the Pier all with in walking distance and you honestly cant ask for a better view......

Cold and tired

I was put in a room with no heat. When I tried to get in the hot shower, the steam set off the smoke alarm 😞 the attendant came out and I told him it was cold and no heat was in the room but he offered no alternative I was a late arrival and so tired that I crawled under the covers and went to sleep but it was so cold when I got up and a hot shower just set off the alarm again. I was very disappointed in the accommodation and work down here all the time but I won’t book here again.

The indoor pool and hotub was definitely a game changer. The motel is slowly deteriorating and you see that in places but it had no bearing on the quality of our stay. I will definitely be coming back.
