Happy Crab is the perfect retreat for your Outer Banks family vacation, located a short walk (only 600 feet) from the beautiful beaches of Nags Head!

The beach is just across the road via the semi-private beach access just south of the Surfside Hotel. When not spending your days in the sand, the 12x24 private pool is the perfect spot to soak up the sun. Sit back and relax in the bubbling hot tub. Enjoy beautiful views of both the ocean and the sound, and take in the famous, stunning Outer Banks sunrises and sunsets from both the sun and covered decks of this well-appointed home.

Inside, the 3-level reverse floor plan at Happy Crab provides an abundance of space for you and your family to spread out. Happy Crab offers a recreation room with a pool table and an arcade game for family fun. All TVs have WiFi Smart hub Blu-rays, so you can use your own Netflix or Hulu account to watch whatever you want. There is also a large Blu-ray movie collection for guest use!

Happy Crab is located at Milepost 15.5 in the Whalebone district of Nags Head. This area is known for its outstanding shopping and dining, and is also close to many unique Outer Banks attractions, including multiple fishing piers, the Bodie Island Lighthouse, Jockey's Ridge State Park, the Wright Brother's National Memorial, and more.

Bed and bath linens are provided for full-week rentals only. The private pool is open from mid-May to mid-October.

The fireplace is not available for guest use.

Ground Level: Recreation room a with pool table, arcade game, and TV, queen bedroom, full bath with tub/shower, screened-in porch with deck furniture, access to private swimming pool, hot tub, enclosed outdoor shower, charcoal and gas grill.

Mid Level: King en suite with a private bath (tub/shower combo), queen bedroom, bedroom with 2 twin beds, queen bedroom, full hall bath (tub/shower combo), den with wet bar, full-size refrigerator with ice maker, flatscreen TV, Blu-ray player, sun deck overlooking the pool, and covered deck.

Top Level: Spacious living/dining/kitchen area, TV entertainment system, wet bar, half bath, king en suite with a private bath with Jacuzzi tub, separate stand-up shower, and large sun deck.

Beach renourishment projects are scheduled to take place in Dare County in late spring through summer of 2026. Specifically, projects are planned to take place along the oceanfront in Nags Head, Buxton and Avon. More details will be provided as updates and plans are confirmed.
