Naples

We took the Alibus from the airport to Piazza Garibaldi where we picked up the metro to Piazza Cavour, changed lines and alighted at Dante. While at Garibaldi make sure you get a city map of Naples as it's invaluable. We realised we could have walked through to Museo from La Cavour, which is then just a short walk to the hotel down Via Constantinopoli. We had a room on the top floor, no view but we didn't bother trying to swap. It was clean and comfortable. The breakfast was just right to start the day but don't expect lots of hot dishes. We purchased the 3 day Arte card from Garibaldi which meant that we got free entrances and transport to Pompeii and Herculaneum along with reduced entry to the archeological museum, subterranean tour and some other attractions. The useful leaflet details everywhere that's included on the card. The new metro line at Toledo is now open although the line 1 map doesn't show it at present. There is metro 'shuttle' between Dante, Toledo and Universita, so that's useful if you don't want to keep walking from the hotel to the marina, funicular or shops. The weather wasn't great when we were there and we would have liked somewhere cosy to sit in the evening rather than just the small internet room in the hotel or outside in the lobby. Naples has a lot of litter and graffiti but it also has a lot of character. We ate well every day and the seafood risottos were delicious. Having just finished reading Robert Harris's Pompeii we found the Neapolitan subsoil tour of the aqueduct and amphitheatre fascinating but don't go if you are claustrophobic! We were a bit disappointed with Cappella Sanservo for the price and length of the visit. Castel Dell' Ovo is well worth a visit and on a clear day there is a great view of Vesuvius and Capri and its free!! The hotel is easily reached from either Dante or Museo metro stations.

Gute Gegend und angenehme Lage mit Buchhandlungen, Schulen und Uni. Verpflegungsmöglichkeiten überall. Ruhiges (Januar 2023) und grosszügiges Zimmer. Sehr motiviertes und freundliches Personal. War äusserst zufrieden. 6 Nächte. Alleinreisende.

Proche et accueillant

Pros: l'emplacement et le petit déjeuner
Location: prés de place dante et du musée archéologique, emplacement parfait alliant le côté typique de naples et une certaine tranquillité
très bien placé et personnel très accueillant et sympa, petit déjeuner agréable et de très bonne facture

Très bon séjour en famille

Vraiment rien a redire, très bien ! literie confortable et grande, endroit propre, personnel vraiment très agréable et disponible (ce qui n'est pas toujours le cas à Naples où les gens sont sympas mais rustres).
