Pros: the hotel is centrally located to the main plaza and is close to many adorable restaurants. Cons: the staff was incredibly unresponsive and unhelpful. I messaged the hotel the day before to confirm I needed the 2 bed option vs the queen (both options in my reservation). I also asked for the address of the parking garage. I had to call for the parking address and, 20 minutes later, call again because the gentleman still had not sent it and I was driving in circles. The address he sent was not close to the hotel. I used a garage message than 2 blocks away. We then arrived and we did not have 2 beds. He did nothing to help except state we could have two beds the next day: no offer of extra bedding to make it ourselves, nothing. There wasnt so much as a bottle of water in the room. All in all, probably wouldn’t stay here again.

The building and room were rather charming. The fact that the building we stayed in was an extension of the main facility and located a quarter mile up a hill. We had to roll our bags up the hill and then up the marble steps to our room. After an eleven hour plus plane ride we were exhausted.

The room itself was really nice and spacious but the shower was tedious as the drainage was not working properly and you could only leave the water running for a minute and then wait for the water to drain in order to not completely flood the bath. I still would highly recommend the hotel as the staff was very friendly and helpful and the room itself was great!

The listing on Expedia mentioned “Parking available” - there is none. We wasted an hour trying to find the one indicated by the reception, but our GPS brought us to a tunnel quite far from the hotel. We gave up and found parking near the hotel but it wasn’t cheap!

Don’t be fooled by the photos

The location is good and very central and rooms were serviced ever day which is good. The photos of the room are so deceiving. The rooms are tiny. The air con barely worked and did not cool down even though it was so hot outside! The shower was awful and looked broken and unfinished. Water would go everywhere and flood the bathroom. Had to use the small handheld shower hose which pointed in the awkward position and wa so low that again the water went everywhere. The building to get to your room looked like it was an abandoned building, not inviting at all.

What we liked: The hotel is situated in Via Chiaia, a few steps from the Palazzo Reale and the San Carlo Theatre as well as Piazza del Plebiscito and Mergellina (the seawalk). This is a prime location, from here you can go anywhere, its right there by the quartieri spagnoli (spanish quarters) as well (if you are a soccer fan this is a great spot to visit). The staff is super friendly and the room was cleaned daily. What we didn't like: The room was extremely small with barely any space too move. There was no air circulation and no fan, this made the space extremely stuffy, we had to have the balcony constantly opened. The air conditioning unit was broken and unfortunately they knew this and still put us in the room, we complained ahout it and they told us they'd move us to a room with it's own AC the next day (most of the room had centralized AC and it was set on heating) this however didn't happen because the next day they told us unfortunately they were full. The bed was made up of 2 twin beds put together which honestly is typically around here, unfortunately one side was super hard and the other was okay. At night we had to sleep with the balcony doors opened because of the heat and as a result all the noises from the outside came in. Also, while they cleaned the room daily they never changed the towals in the bathroom even when we put them on the floor for them to replace. Overall, this is a good spot when considering quality, location and price.

Centralt, tyst och bra hotell.

Rent, trevlig personal, tryggt centralt läge nära hamnen om man skall ta båtarna till Amalfikusten. Bilfri gata så helt tyst vilket var underbart. Bra AC då vi hade 35 gradigt väder ute.
