Circa 1810 Home - Downtown New Bern Historic District - 2 BRs with King Beds

This unique historic home was originally a dependency to the grand Coor-Bishop House located a half block away, where President James Monroe stayed in 1819 while touring the South.

The home contains two large bedrooms with vaulted ceilings and new King beds with new mattresses. One King bed can be converted to two Twin XLs upon request. The house
is newly updated with fresh paint, new furniture, luxury linens and amenities and a new gas range in the well-appointed kitchen.

Walk to the riverfront, Tryon Palace and historic downtown and its many restaurants, bars, shops, and galleries. Relax on the screen porch. Cruise or kayak the Neuse and Trent Rivers. Take a short 45-minute drive to Beaufort, Oriental, and the beautiful Crystal Coast beaches.

Sorry, but no children under 8 years of age. Infants are welcome but we do not provide cribs or playards.

PLEASE NOTE: The home is situated on a raised basement with 12 steps from the street level to the front door. All bedrooms are on the second floor.

We booked this stay for our elderly parents, while the stairs were a challenge, they were manageable. Spacious bedrooms and cozy common areas in this 1810 guest cottage. Hosts were very attentive and communicative, and the property was certainly as advertised. We were looking for a great “home base” to explore New Bern that also wasn’t right in the middle of downtown, and this property was great.
