I normally stay at the Comfort Inn & Suites in Marrero, Louisiana every time I visit New Orleans because I’ve always felt comfortable and safe here. Unfortunately, this most recent stay was very different and disappointing.
I was in town to bury my father, so rest and peace were extremely important. For two nights in a row, I was unable to get any sleep due to excessive noise from the room next to mine. A child was running, jumping, and bouncing around late at night, including waking me out of my sleep around 1:00 a.m. It sounded as if it was the middle of the day, not late at night. I contacted the front desk both nights to report the issue because I wasn’t sure what was going on and was concerned the child may have been unattended.
In addition to the noise issues, when I returned to the hotel on my last day, someone was sitting out front smoking marijuana, which made me uncomfortable and raised concerns about the overall environment. I understand the hotel cannot control everything, but this experience was very unlike the Comfort Inn I’ve stayed at in the past.
This stay was stressful during an already emotional time, and it has made me question whether I would return on future visits.
