Our stay at the Marriott Residence Inn in Elmwood was unfortunately very disappointing from the very beginning. The greeting was extremely unwelcoming. We arrived late at night with little children who were exhausted, restless, and falling asleep, and yet we had to wait for someone to even show up at the reception desk. When the front desk employee finally appeared, her attitude made it seem as though she was doing us a favor by checking us in. There was no smile, no greeting, and no basic courtesy. Additionally, the hotel lists its address as New Orleans, but it is actually located in Elmwood. This is misleading and should be corrected. When we got to our room, we discovered that it had one king bed instead of the two queen beds that I had specifically booked. I went back to the reception to ask why we were given the wrong room. Instead of addressing my concern, the employee ignored me and checked in several other guests who were in line, and only after that returned to me. She then informed me that no rooms with two queen beds were available and that when booking through Hotels.com I am only guaranteed a room at the hotel, but not the type of room I reserved. This policy feels extremely unfair and misleading. Because it was late at night and we had no other place to go, we had no choice but to stay in the incorrect room. The sofa bed was uncomfortable, and in the end all four of us had to sleep together in one bed. No hair conditioner, plastic plates at breakfast…
