Poor Service and information

The room was very nice. Great view. The bed was not the best for comfort. Front desk check in was poor. We booked a king bed room we were downgraded to a double twin bed room. We stayed to attend the Devils, Canes game. We weren't told at check in about breakfast. We not told about doors being locked once we returned hockey game. We just ended up not feeling relaxed. Breakfast service was horrible. Had to ask for silverware, Coffee ect.,

The receptionist at the hotel were really bad and un professional. They exhibited very bad behaviour and didn't treat guest the way they should be treated to. Also it is bear Penn Station but the place is not safe as lot of people unwantedly roam in the area. Felt unsafe while travelling at night. Hm

The hitel was better than expected for thus area. The staff at check in was satisfactory, the morning crew was better. The location is not the nicest but close to the train station and had a parking garage we could leave our car in while we were in our trip.

Excellent service from the moment we were greeted at the entrance and by all the people who worked inside the hotel. We loved that the hotel was right across the street from Newark Penn Station and that made getting around the city much easier.

The Doubletree is conveniently located across the street from Newark Penn Station. Less than a 20 minute train trip to NY Penn Station with a lot of departures throughout the day. There are only a couple of late night restaurants nearby, but there is a 24 hour Walgreens within walking distance. The hotel staff is great and housekeeping is flexible about cleaning your room if you are a late sleeper. The rooms are a nice size and the beds are really comfortable. A small refrigerator is provided and there is a microwave available in the lobby.

This listing was a lie. There is no self parking on the property, there is a parking garage that charges you 50$ per night to use. Also the continental breakfast does not come with the room it has to be added as part of a package. It’s right across the street from a busy buss terminal so there are shady people and traffic congestion all throughout the night. The room was small and has stains on the carpet. There were sweaty head marks on the headboard and the room was far from clean. I had to sleep above the blankets and cranked the heat to stay warm.
