The hotel is in a great location right on the seafront. Fast efficient check in and a nice room. Breakfast was very tasty. Loved the green option of swapping a room clean for a free drink. Perfect for a 2 night stay and great for the climate.

The room was perfectly clean with a very comfortable bed and the shower had none of the malfunctions often experienced in hotels!! The public rooms were beautifully decorated for Xmas. We enjoyed two breakfasts at the extensive buffet but missed maple syrup for our pancakes! However we were most impressed with the friendliness & helpfulness shown by all the staff & we expressed this on our departure. We will be back!

I have stayed at many icg hotels and the tynemouth castle is up there with the best. However, I was not impressed with the evening food, it lacked flair and seemed to be formulaic. The building and decor were superb.

Cannot understand some previous negative reviews, especially those mentioning the quality of the food. Our room was in very good order, and the staff were all very friendly. Quality of the breakfast was very good. It is also in a very central location, easy walking distance to everything. Would definitely return.
