Checked in early on a Thursday with 2 small kids in tow by myself. I unloaded everything and got my 2 year old ready for his nap when construction began right outside our room. It was so loud that you could not sit on the balcony and enjoy the ocean view we paid for. I immediately called Grand Strand around 230pm asking for a partial refund and they said they would call me back. During this time, I had to get groceries for the kids so after unpacking, we bought groceries and unpacked those as well. Several hours later, they called back and offered for us to switch rooms. At this point, I have 2 small kids at the beach and visiting with family I haven’t seen in years when they finally call back with the offer to switch rooms. I explained my situation and I would call them back and let them know my decision. Tried to call back around 645 and they were closed. Friday was the worst day. Construction began directly on our room. They knocked down pictures, they cracked the drywall and baseboards with how hard they were banging. I called back and they said it was too late to move and no partial refund could be given. My 2 year old couldn’t stay in the room without getting upset because it was just too loud and scary. Worst customer service I’ve ever received. Not apologetic and feels that the offer to move rooms late Thursday was more than gracious. I disagree and would never recommend this company to anyone. Very disappointed after the money we spent to be treated so poorly.
